Or you could have it sent to your local store, and postage is free...

No. I mean a Games Workshop store.

Direct Only models are not available to independant retailers, so they must either be purchased online via the GW website, or in a GW store.

Ah, did not know that. How very EE of them, do you know if Gildor is a direct only? He's one of the few elf sculpts I'm actually interested in.

I think the answer to the question 'where did all the blister packs go?' is bleeding obvious! Those Somalian pirates took em!

I'm also suprised at how many new releases they have made as direct order only. My local GW manager says rather than have blisters of valuable metal sitting in stores for months on end, it is financially better off casting them up on demand. Doesn't bother me too much as postage is free when you order through the store and I get to ask the guys lots of annoying questions! :P

So to get Amdur I will have to drive one hour to the store, buy it online there, and have it shipped there, and wait a week, then drive an hour back there to pick it up? perhaps ill just go with Khamul...

As a retailer, it’s a pain in the ass that the new blisters are direct only.

To an extent I can understand the move as the prices from online retailers are dropping to ridiculous levels. GW must be hurting and I would imagine that this new tactic is an effort to soften the blow.

There's no need for this sort of language, even if 'disguised' in some abbreviation or with some ****. Lets stay with the guidelines and keep it friendly and polite, please.

Sorry, sorry. I'm frustrated though. I don't have a credit card to order online, and now the local GW (both that are nearby!) tells me that I cannot get the Direct-only stuff delivered to the store. I wanted some Riders of Eorl! :-X

You can get Gildor through the store, although I don't think he's available instore. When I got him I just ordered him direct (He's one of the collectors models now). Free postage and all I had to do was go into the store 4 days later and pick him up :)

I wonder if that's either a new policy, or just a policy outside of the US...I've been able to order Direct Only stuff as recently as two months ago (starting my Sisters of Battle army...what a pain in the wallet that army was. Although I love 'em...my scary little nuns with guns that members of my local group swear at seeing across the board in tourneys...)

A week later again and still no answer....
I really wonder what they have to hide with this that it gives such a problem to reply on a polite email.

Maybe they accidentally sacked everyone who could read?
Or, they just do not want to come out and say openly that they are trying to maintain a higher marginal profit on part of the range?
