real lights huh?
Brilliant Alan!
I really like that ballustrade-thing, the detail is such a nice thing, gives a specific medieval atmosphere! Nice job so far, as usual!

Will Van Helsing make an appearance in Pax Limpopo? And Jack (the Ripper)? This looks like somewhere that Holmes and Watson would be chasing Professor Moriarty...

The game's afoot!

Been a while since I updated this one - I've been working on this project again now that I've finished two commissions.

Lots of work to do, but I'm happy with the pace so far.

The, err, Bicycle-panzerkampwagens are quite... bizarre (and I for one would not want to be the driver of one of those crashing down all those steps leading to the river embankment!)

The jetties are so cute! Reminds me of Oliver Twist and Captain Jack Sparrow. The finish on the wood is very authentic - looks like wood that has been exposed to the elements for years.

Thats brilliant work as usual Alan !!!
There are always 2 things that stand out to me with your work...
1. The detail of the work
2. The perfect colouration of each individual piece.

A pleasure to the eyes !!!

Not flippin' long enough! The convention is on the 25th of May so about 8 weeks and there's still a heck of a lot to do on it.

Still, Greg and Nic probably haven't even play-tested the scenario yet!

I see you have a water line which is nicely painted are you going to leave it like that or add resin for effect?

It would be an aweful lot of resin

Yes, the water will be done in polyurethane resin - I have done large bodies of water like this before and, with the right material, it works out fine. Just got to make sure there is NO dust in the air for 24 hours.

I have done a bit more work on it since these shots were taken and, when the glue has dried and I can take the clamps off it, I'll take another few photos.

A clever idea called a "Doodad" (patent pending) - a device invented by Mad Uncle Andy (aka abbcampbell). Fits snugly onto the steps (upside down) and gives any model a stable platform upon which to stand - use two for larger bases. I made a master model and cast it in plaster, works a treat!

Looking great as usual Alan, but the teddy-bears make it look like a very cute little town! :D

I foresee Pax Limpopo scenarios involving Goldilocks and the felonious consumption of three helpings of porridge...

The shiny things on the water's surface are pieces of acetate on which I will make piles of flotsam and detritus.

I see in the background a back log of LOTR. :) Brilliant as always Alan just one question on the floats-om stuff.

Your going to use the acetate and then lay that on the resin so it can be moved or will the floats-om be permanent?

This is certainly going to be an amazing piece of work when its eventually finished.
Love the distinctive colouration you have used between stairs and walls and the 'building' section in the top right corner is looking nice with real potential.
Love your attention to detail as always Alen ! Marvelous !!!
