Well, following on from my idea (here) I have made some small beginnings into my Nurgle army. First up, the very basic Marauders kit bashing. Champion Marauder legs, Orc Warboss torso, Beastman flail, Chaos Spawn tantacles, Zombie head. Musician (the One Man Band) Zombie legs, Marauder torso, Skaven Plague Monk head and left arm, Beastman horn, Empire Flagellant back banner with Plague Monk gong. Rank and File (being Nurgle, probably very rank) First is - Night Goblin legs, Zombie torso, Marauder arms and Flagellant head. Second is Flagellant body and flail head with Marauder flail handle and head, and a Zombie arm. First Standard Bearer My original inspiration - Plague Monk body (minus tail) and flail, Marauder head and arm and banner top. He doesn't rank up properly next to the Champion, so he will be used for another unit. Think I'm going to pick up a Corpse Cart to use as a Chariot, and steal the Necromancer to use as a Standard Bearer for the unit instead. So, that is the basic poses sorted. Now, there is just the (not so) small matter of greenstuffing them all to hide the joins and mis-matched pieces. I'm thinking lots of robes, hair and pustules. After that, I'll add in some accessories, like severed heads, scrolls, skulls, zombie parts, Ogre trophies, like the hunks of meat. So, bar the Standard Bearer, that is the first rank almost complete. I've picked out parts for the second rank (there will be 14 models in the unit) including a Brettonian Grail Reliquae pilgrim, and a Dwarf of all things... |

So Nurgle is like pick-and-mix but with pustules? Anything goes (as long as it has warts and tentacles?) Your creative side is showing yet again... rather disturbing |

Yeah pretty much. Actually, the best thing about Nurgle conversions is, if you make a mess of it, or accidentally gouge the wrong bit, it still looks 'right'. |

I remember myself assembling a Nurgle army aswell a long time ago! It's a nice army actually, so many funny creatures can be made! Basicly, you can just take about any plastic figure aswell, put it in the oven for a bit and see the result can be very surprising, heh. (OK, don't try this at home! You don't want to taste the damps releasing from melting plastic in the pie the woman will bake the day after...) You got some nice combinations already there John! Looking forward to see you painting it! |
