[P] October Challenge "The Forces of Darkness"

THE FORCES OF DARKNESS

Welcome to the October painting challenge. This month will be a single miniature challenge and is open to anything at all from the Forces of Darkness. Only one model can be submitted for the vote.

1. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

2. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of October 31st 2014. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 4 photos please, this allows you to show your miniature off from front, back and each side which is more than enough. If you would like to compile more than one pictures into one file it is ok to do that

3. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed miniatures. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills.

4. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next months painting challenge, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive months.

I've quickly changed over to Bolg/Gundabad Orc General as I need him painted for a tournament soon. Fantastic miniature with loads of wonderful detail. Can't wait to get stuck into him.

Black undercoated, metal cave drake.
I took this picture on the 1/10, in the last 2 days I have painted loads of it up.

2 other cave drakes, the models used are the metal carnosaur from warhammer, and the other is an old mitril smaug minus the wings

To hell with my hiatus, I'm competing. Not sure what I'm competing with yet as I need to buy it. Foolishly cleared out my backlog when I packed it in a couple of years ago. If anyone has anything they'd like to see me enter with, please post here as I've no idea yet. Single figure (25mm) only methinks. I'll see.

Really like that model and whilst I would love to jump in the deep end of Saruman and his white robes, having not painted for over 2 years I might start off with Bolg and get to Saruman another day, sorry Kev. Thanks Jonathan.

@Alatar - remember to use an image hosting site such as photobucket or imageshack to submit your finished pictures as attachments are not eligible for the final vote. Cheers.
