If it's any consolation for you, I was very closely considering to vote for your model. In the end I had to go for DMS though. And apparently I'm not the only one here who has considered you as the runner up by reading other people's posts.

Thanks, it's not really that big of a deal, I think my expectations were a bit too high. I had a great time reading through all the comments though, so I'm fine. :)
I'm still stuck on who to vote for. I just can't decide

If you had had an amazing base like DMS, I would have voted for yours. Your expectations were not too high.

Everyone who entered this challenge should be so proud of their work. In my opinion this is the best group of models I've ever seen in a painting challenge. The overall quality is amazing. Well done everyone. :yay: :yay: :yay:

It is also great to have such a close contest!

I had a hard time chosing between PoW, MMS, DMS and Haldir_Pl.

PoW - you get full marks for improvement and creativity. This is certainly the best painting I have seen from you and the freehand design on the cloak is just brilliant. You should be stoked.

MMS - I am used to seeing outstanding painting from you and the armoured G is no expection. I wish I could paint as good as that and get the 'realistic' finish that you seem to pull off time and time again.

DMS - you are an artist and your mounted G deserves to be in a gallery. Your artistic style is original and brilliant. The base is outstanding.

Haldir-Pl - first time entry? I was gobsmacked. The speckled mare - amazing! How did you do that? The highlights and shades, colour composition, everything - spot on. Arwen looks beautiful as Arwen should. In the end, after much deliberation, you got my vote because you captured the essence of the character best.

Haldir PL's arwen is beautiful, especially the horse. We really liked minimal monkey saddle's armoured glorfindel, and bilbo's colour scheme and cloak was really interesting. D.M.S's Glorfindel was a work of art, so we had to vote for that one.

Running commentry; So far Dead Marsh Spectre is in the lead with 17 votes, haldir-pl is in second place with 14 votes, Minimal Monkey Saddle is in third place with 9 votes, the rest are hanging behind with 1 or no votes. Anything could happen...

I am saying 'WE' because it is my dad and I we discussed it and we both agreed that we both preferred D.M.S even though all the others were brilliant! :-D
But my dad keeps trying to make me use less smileys.[Meany pants!] But on the other hand he does the photos.

Wow! I see we have quite a challenge this month. Good very good. That makes me regret even more I won't be able to participate in the November edition :(

Easy, just roll with the feeling :))

Much appreciated ;)

Haldir_pl. This is an amazing first-time paint challenge entry! The blending is smooth and the choice of colours suits her well!

In the end, I chose Haldir_pl's Arwen. The first-time entry tipped the scale for me.

Thank you, though I doubt that number of entries in Challenge has anything to do with a quality :) Nevertheless thanks for positive feedback :)

Quote:
Well, I had to go with Haldir's arwen, such a stunning model. The base was also very well done, only rivaled by DMs's base. Wow, you two can really make a hero stand out with your basing (and painting) skills!

Well I was hoping for some tought competition so I'm very happy with how it's turning out ;) Thanks for noticing the effort put into each hero ;)
