Post subject: | Who wins a fight? Question |
Hullo, I was playing a battle yesterday and we stumbled across a weird bit.. We were in a fight. 4 companies of orcs VS kings champion & 1 company of dwarves(which only had 5 warriors left! ) KC stroke on the orcs and got like 4 hits. my orcs hit the dwarves and got only 1 hit. There fore the entire company of the dwarves was destroyed( 5 models in one hit) Our conclusion.. who won the fight? The orcs only made one hit and destroyed there fore the entire company (of 5 models) where as the KC destroyed 4 orcs..?? (side note: the dwarves missed there hits) any help is welcome. We just rolled the D6.. 1,2,3 evil wins and 4,5,6 good side! |

From what I remember of WotR, the final company is removed when only half remain (as in this case), so the 1 kill on the dwarves actually resulted in 5 kills as the others lost heart an fled = a win for the orcs! |

I believe Leonardis is correct, but you guys handled it well. You must have had some terrible luck that turn lol for the Orcs to pass their courage, only lose 4 to the KC and have your Dwarves all fail to wound. I wonder what the odds were |

I am also going to say something In my opinion you forget a rule There is a rule saying if infanterie (-> Orcs) fights against an other infanterieformation (-> Dwarfs) both attack with the number of soldiers they had before the fight. That means the dwarfsoldiers were able to attack the orcs back. So you cant say who wins the fight because you havent finished the fight. M_17 |

I think you count hits to determine who won. You scored 4 hits, the orcs scored 1 hit (the others are just removed, not hit), you win. |

Pg 50 section 6. ''a fights winner is the side that has inflicted the most casualties (not hits). Total the casualties scored by each side etc etc.'' So the orcs win in the OP example. |

Sorry, my bad. Haven't played in far, far too long a time, as I seem to be the only WotR gamer in Holland (and I don't have nearly as much time as I'd want to). |
