When in a fight with a troll do you still get supporting die , or is it just 8 for the one company ?.

Na, pretty sure the other companies still get their supporting dice. But yes the troll only has to fight 1 direct company all the time which is super awsome for the troll player. which is why trolls should be shot with medium to large size formations of archers.

He is correct, monsters are usually still very easy to kill anyway though.

In Wotr they made the monsters and archers and even cavalry less effective

Sorry to interrupt your very deep and philosophic debate guys , but I really struggled to kill a couple of trolls the other day in fact in the end I only killed one which then died in front of me and blocked my route!!. How are they killed really easily??

Trolls can be more easily killed by bows and warriors/heroes with the trollbane rule...
What do you mean it blocked your route? When monsters die they are removed from the battlefield.

Hilbert is correct, archers are the best way (you need 2-3 companies), trollbane is nice. Also sending a large 6+ formation at them is a good idea, because although they strike first, they cannot kill you off, and you'll still have enough attacks to wipe him out.

Ok two things . Firstly hilbert are you sure about removing them once their dead the guy I played says the remain where their killed you can even buy a slain troll model . Secondly gothmog when you say ,Also sending a large 6+ formation at them is a good idea, because although they strike first, they cannot kill you off, and you'll still have enough attacks to wipe him out , I thought you could only attack with one company at a time and with my WOMT this seems to take ages !. Sorry for the annoying questions guys thanks for your patience.

Hilbert is right about removing them, although he may wish to answer. You do attack with one company but then you have the extra dice from supporting companies.

You know I'm starting to understand now why i always seem to lose! I was even told I didn't get supporting die because it's a monster hence the need for this post. Thanks

1) As I and GothmogTheWerewolf already have said you remove the monsters...
2) You get supporting dices agianst a monster...
So or the guy cheated on you or he didn't know the rules himself

I've had games where one company of Minas Tirith archers manage to take out a troll in one shooting phase, and others where it took 2 formations of 6 elven archers + 2 might points to kill one off...
