Well I haven't played WOTR in forever or what seems forever (at least a year and a half).

I have a small 500ish point Dunland based force led by Thrydan. Is this an army that is playable nowadays? Can it be used?

- Thrydan
- 4 Companies of Wildmen
- 4 Companies of Wildmen
- 3 Companies of Huscarls with chieftain/banner
- 3 Companies of Huscarls with chieftain/banner

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It can be used. However you need to do it via a Battlehost (which means the rares do not count towards the army composition). So you spend 75pts, gain the battlehost abilities (always unstoppable charge, and something else that never seems to be relevant IIRC), and still need to have a common formation in the army to make the overall list legal. Thrydan can be the minimum one Epic.

Cheers
