Hi everyone,

As you all know, I've been busy working on the site for the past week or so. I appreciate your patience and support - it's been great and a huge source of inspiration for me personally. It is so good to see the OR community is alive and thriving after so many years.

Thank you all for diligently logging in and updating your passwords, that's great. So many of our active members have done this now, but there are still a good many that have yet to do so.

Now, what's been happening since the site came back? Well, I've been working towards getting the galleries back again and they are almost there now - just a day or so more and I think I'll be finished. And I think I have found a good replacement for our old library system too, so there's a good path ahead of us and I think we should be back on track soon.

Just to whet your appetites, I have done a sample graphic design for the website and thought you might like to see what I have in mind:

@Ranger of Gondor, yes I used Photoshop to do that image, but when it comes time to fine tune the graphics I will use Illustrator and Fireworks as well.

@Ragobur, the article library we had before was one I (mostly) built myself, so it was full of bugs and a bit hard to use here and there. Plus, upgrading it to suit the new site design is a big job. There is a very well written article library system available though, which means I could install it quickly and easily any time we upgrade our software in the future. The difficult thing is making sure the old article articles can be converted.

The new design looks great. Though I prefer the font we are using now for posts than the one featured in that shot.

It looks great, but the donate button doesn't really fit and sort of stands out (but maybe this is intended...)

The donate button and the Wayland Games banner advert will be featured prominently, yes, but I'll probably change the graphic for the Donate button to something a bit more subdued - it's pretty hideous at the moment, isn't it.

Feel free to take a look at it. You can't create a user account on there (and there's no point either since I occasionally delete the site from time to time), but the gallery and article library software are both installed there if you want to have a look. It's very basic at the moment, but I'll be adding new bits to it as I go.
