Proofreaders are like test pilots of the book world, they read articles or even whole book texts and make corrections to grammer/spelling and even context errors. You can do a course from open university or other tertiary learning centre..google it if you want...they can make good money if they can get the work. My wife is qualified as one but has not worked as one ..yet. |

And if you are wondering what the proofreaders do on this site specifically (since you asked it in the Website Questions forum), then it's a combination of editor and proofreader. Most of the work -- time-wise -- goes to working through the articles with their authors to make sure the articles contain all information needed. For example, making sure a conversion article is written so that the readers understand what is being done in what phase. In addition to actual proofreading, or grammar and spelling correcting, some layout fixes need to be made for articles before they are published, just to make them look good. -- Pasi |

Mitch wrote: cnt wait to c if theyll b approved or not Hmmm, with abbreviations like this, I would predict an unhappy result for you Mitch.
Please don't use these text message style shortcuts here, there are a lot of people here who cannot understand what you've written. |
