Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who entered, theres some mighty fine work going on here. Thank you to the staff of One Ring and the sponsors for the site and running such an event, it really inspries and motivates people to stay in the hobby and create some masterpieces.

I'm glad I took part and look forward to contributing again.

Yes, well done Brent. An excellent result! I thought your terrain piece was fantastic - full of character and very unusual.

Ah good, now I can put more pics in my gallery. I've been itchin for the compy to end so that we can discuss all the great entries! All this anonymous stuff is very cloak and dagger, but it's fun trying to guess who did what.

I was quite proud of my little diorama until the big guns came in after me and knocked the wind out of my sails. Gives me more encouragement to try harder for next time. I'm determined to win something other than the sculpting category, but grateful that I did!! Some excellent entries all told, with deserving winners. Thanks to all that took part, whether as an entrant or just as a voter. They are fun.

Looking forward to the next awards!

I was feeling the same way about my dio/terrain piece until Dorth dropped that stunning bomb. It was freakin' amazing.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my Mumakil pulled out a second place finish even though he wasn't a "surprise".

I must work on improving my painting for the painting awards!!

Looking forward to seeing them. Your sculpt was excellent - the best you've done yet (in my opinion). Stunning little fellow!

I presume he'll be cast soon? I fancy one of those!

I'll probably do a WIP thread to show all the pretty pictures. Don't want to clog up my gallery with pictures of the same thing shot from every angle.

Well done to everyone for taking part, and all I can say I am humbly grateful for your votes. The pictures do not really do the piece justice - I will try more for the article I have to write (there are an awful lot of WIP pics). It is one of my favourite scenes in TTT - watch it again and you will see why. The grandeur of the setting, the storm, lightning and thunder, smoke, and ancient opponents in their final showdown...

Great job everyone!
Althought it is stunning to see that, as I remember it correctly, almost none of my 'winners' were actually the winner.. xD

A few people have been enquiring about prizes for the second and third place. Well if in doubt look in the rules and you will see:-

the answer is Gold Coins :-)

Prizes
1. The provision of physical prizes for the One Ring Awards is not guaranteed. Prizes depend upon the level of site funds from donations received from general members and the goodwill of the Staff and Admin team. In addition to the main physical prizes for 1st place, 2nd and 3rd places will be rewarded with One Ring gold coins.

2. As stated earlier in the rules, the 'One Ring Master Craftsman' - LOTR Themed Challenge will never have a physical prize awarded to the winner. Since it may well appeal to the more established hobbyist, it is assumed the honour of this award will be reward enough. In addition, no gold coins will be awarded in this special category.

I congratulated the winners of the competition itself but I would also like to add my congratulations to those who got the Competition Commitee Choice Awards! Very well done to all of you, and of course to everyone else who placed and even those who entered! Good luck everyone for next time

Off all things I've ever won in this hobby, this one it to me the most exciting one! (however, I'm sure the lack of entrants played a big part in this...)

I'd like to thank the competition commitee for their great work again again and again ! Many thanks!

A big congrats to all who entered, and a big thanks aswell for entering! Whatever the result is, we, hobbyists are the ones who can keep the awards alive by entering our best pieces!

One thing I've leared about competitions is that they are the perfect way to raise your skills, doing this extra little effort every time can make a big difference to a miniature.
Improvement on your skills is the most precious prize we can all get, and that's something were none can be beaten, as it's personal.

I would like to give everyone a little push in the back to pick up some figures or greenstuff and tools or thrash to make terrain with... to start working on the next awards-edition in September!

Thanks again to the commitee, to the entrants, to the voters and congrats to all winners, to all entrants!

Woot!, I'll be loading up on coinage with these competitions. Hopefully I can get myself up to the next rank once I start spending them.

Thanks to Competition Committee for the "extra" coins as part of the committee choice awards. The nice part of coming in second is that I get to keep entering the same categories!

Congratulations to everyone who entered. There were some great entries this time around and I'm sure we'll see even more next time. Special thanks as always to the hard working, underpaid and overlooked Competition Committee for doing a real bang up job. KUDOS!

Cheers
