Greetings all.

All the static grass I have is really specific to woodlands (been fine for my Elves and Dol Guldur forces so far). Now that I'm starting to crank on Rohan I realize I'm going to need to get something new but not sure exactly what to get.

I'm looking for that green/brown/yellow color you see in the early part of TTT with the Three Hunters chasing the Uruks and a little later with the Warg attack on the way to Helms Deep. I can probably duplicate the ground color with regard to paints but I want some short and medium static grass clumps to break things up as well. In addition to my Rohan models, I will be redoing my Isengard army in time (they were my first and I've come a way since then) and also want to use this look for my terrain pieces.

If anyone has some specific colors/codes it helps me a lot. And pics of a model or terrain piece with the grass as an example would be appreciated. I usually use Woodland Scenics since my LGS carries some variety (but nothing currently in stock for this I found) and can order anything else pretty quick, but I'm open to suggestions if there's another brand that nails this color better (US purchase only for shipping purposes).

advTHANKSance! :)

It's fairly expensive but GW actually produce some colours that you want.

There is dead grass; http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod210005a
or scorched grass: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1095404

I think the colour you want is dead grass but scorched can add some variety. I'm not sure what's available by different companies however.

I've used grasses from a company called Mininatur, a German company so not sure where you'd get it in the U.S. but Antenocitis Workshop stock it. It's pretty good stuff and comes in a range of colours and lengths.

For rohan grasses I have mixed dead grass and scorched grass in a seperate tub about half and half to get quite a nice shade. You can experiment with your own ratios and see what you like :).

Will.
