Hi 
I've got a few questions regarding the building of helms Deep following the guide in the Two Towers journeybook. 1) In the materials list on all of the Helms Deep guides, it lists ready-mix filler, but doesn't say in any of the steps in any of the guides what it's for? 2)How do i prevent the open foam and the foam stairs being eaten by the paint when i spray the pieces? I think your two questions are linked. I don't have that book so can't say for sure but it would be my guess that the polyfilla would be to coat the foam, probably to carve in stonework, which will in turn protect the foam from the harshness of your primer.
