I'm looking to get a tournament or casual event going, or ideally a series of events in Portland OR. For those Pacific NW players in the US, please advise if you'd attend. I'm sort of thinking Jan 14, 2017 for first, but I'd shift and/or add dates if it meant improved attendance. Probable location would be Guardian Games, but Dice Age Games or WoW are possibilities as well.

Every year McMenamins' Kennedy School does a Tolkien birthday celebration, this year is on the 14th. They do costume contests, LotR themed food, a movie marathon. There is a link here:

I was thinking we might see if we could set up a table somewhere and play some games. It might be a good place to recruit LotR minded folk? At worst it would be a fun place to get a couple games in. I was thinking I'd make some calls once I get back to Oregon and see who the organizers are. My guess is that there is lots of space and they're pretty pro-LotR types so I expect the logistics would be fine.

Great idea Stephen - love it. Can be a bit casual, but indeed, we might be able to recruit a few folks.
