I laughed so much when I saw this thread title - full marks for making an old man happy so early in the morning, and best of luck with what looks like a very busy weekend. |

Nice outtakes. Unfortunately I'll have to wait and opt for the expensive version. Kinda low on funds right now. But I will be there for sure. |

The early birds are now sold out which means that everybody who now attends will gain access to the lucky dip (see rules pack for details). Bring along a friend and help push the stretch goals to unlock more prizes. |

I agree! Spread the word! I think 20 triggered the lucky dip… 30 adds Warriors of Dale box 40 adds Palace Guards box 50 adds Mirkwood Rangers box 60 adds Barrels Out Of Bond set So now the lucky dip has been triggered, down to everyone to spread the word so we can add some of the above prizes |

Hi guys. Really enjoying your work with the GBHL channel. Would like to wish you a lot of success with this tournament as well. I've never played a tournament before and I haven't managed to get enough practice with the Hobbit rules so I won't be attending this year. I read through the rule pack though and it sounds like a really fun weekend. So hopefully ye will be hosting it again next year and I will seriously consider a weekend trip to Stockport!! If I book a Ryanair flight to London, it'll probably land somewhere near there, no?!!! Anyway keep up the good work and looking forward to reports from the tourney. Also thanks for the head up on element games. They do good discounts for us euro using folk even with the postage so I'll be making a purchase soon. Thanks again. |

Hey everyone, i'm getting myself ready to order the Tickets (tournament and plane ticket) and i was wondering, if someone could answer a question for me. Since i will be flying into Manchester from Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport, i would like to know the what would be the best way to transport your models? Metals and the like (as in metal-models) are probably a no-go for cabin-luggage, so stuffing your GW-model case inside another suitcase is the best way to go? I'm probably flying in on Thursday, and fly back on tuesday so i'll have a good long weekend of hobbying (and enjoying the wonderfull Ales and Stouts that England has to offer!) Tips and Tricks while flying with miniatures is greatly appreciated! JantjeLut a.k.a. TheBlondeRider |

I would love to come to this (or another tournament)! However I will need to count my pennies closer to the date. Student's life makes me very poor. I dont live too far from Manchester (sheffield) so I may decide to come by train on both days, which should be cheaper than hotels. My only okayish painted army is Thurdurils halls so I may have to be ubber tactical with my Palace Guard, haha. |

Zirak-Zigil - Don't worry about not being all over the rules! That's what me and Jamie will be there for on the day, to go around and help out There are loads of new players attending and promising to attend and the main draw is the fact it's a big event and a chance to meet everyone else and immerse yourself in middle-earth for a couple of days. I'm sure RyanAir fly into Manchester! I expect to see you there buddy JantjeLut - Great to hear you're making the trip over! I honestly have no idea regarding transport, I've never travelled with models before but guess you won't have tons of anything else because it's just the weekend, so maybe pack your army case in with your main case and try and get as much of your other stuff into your hand luggage? ukfreddybear - Exactly! All about the fun will9113 - I'm sure there are people coming from Sheffield way who can give you a lift matey, are you on the Great British Hobbit League Facebook page?? Get on there and ask about, and I expect to see you there! Student or not, the weekend will cost less than a night out or two!! |

Regarding the scenarios... Rescue Blockade Seize the Prize To the Death Take and Hold I know that Take and Hold is a custom scenario included in the rulespack, but in which rulebooks/sourcebooks can the other scenarios be found? I recently got a copy of the Hobbit: AUJ Rulebook and I have the Kingdom's of Men sourcebook with the post-Warbands scenarios but I don't have the Desolation of Smaug sourcebook and have no intention of doing so. Will that be a problem? The rulespack says that I will need a copy of DOS. |

Rescue, Blockade and Seize the prize are all DoS exclusive scenarios. I would recommend you picking it up. Not exactly expensive. Regarding Blockade, I played this twice yesterday with marsbar and we agreed that it is stupidly hard for the attacker to win due to stupid deployment rules. All models in a warband must be deployed touching the board edge. Takes ages to form any sort of battle line by which time the enemy general has heroic marched off the board. We were thinking of changing the deployment to within 3" of a board edge. Just our two cents. |

Not exactly expensive? £20 for a sourcebook full of rules I'll never use, historical scenarios I'll never play and photos of miniatures I can see for free on GW.com and One Ring (often with better quality painting on the latter), with just three points scenarios that are actually of use to me? Sure, not expensive at all. |
