Yes, it's that time again Hobbitses! The 2nd annual Long Bottom Carnival is upon us! :)

What you must know
1. The Grand Prize this year is none other than the Key to Erebor itself (replica)
2. We will be using Damian's modified Reconoitre (http://www.one-ring.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26075)
3. We will be using Carnival Traits instead of Oaths
4. We will have some lovely new themed boards
5. It's going to be EPIC!

Sunday 25th & Bank Holiday Monday 26th August 2013
750 points, 6 games, 2 days, 1 army

4 fixed scenarios & 1 modified scenario from the rulebook, 1 custom scenario, 10 Special Carnival Traits!

Day 1 Schedule:
09:00-10:00 Doors open, registration
10:00-12:00 Game 1 (Modified Reconnoitre)
12:00-13:00 Lunch
13:00-15:00 Game 2 (Lords of Battle)
16:00-16:30 Break
16:30-18:30 Game 3 (Domination)

Day 2 Schedule:
09:00-09:30 Doors open
09:30-11:30 Game 4 (Hold Ground)
11:30-12:30 Lunch (Best Army voting)
12:30-14:30 Game 5 (To The Death)
14:30-15:00 Break
15:00-17:00 Game 6 (Uninvited Guests)
17:00-18:00 Most Honourable voting & Awards

Scoring:
Players will be ranked and matched using Tournament Points [TP] followed by Victory Points [VP] earned in battle.
Tournament Points are scored as follows:
Win = 3[TP]
Loss = 0[TP]
Draw = 1[TP]

Bonus Points and/or Prizes available as follows:
Overall Winner = First prize - The Key to Erebor!
2nd Place = Award
3rd Place = Award
Best Army = 2[TP]+£10 Gift Voucher
Most Honourable = 2[TP]+Surprise Award
Wooden Spoon = Spoon+Commiserations

Longbottom Carnival Traits
Similar to Oaths, players may choose One Carnival Trait each game. Each trait may be used once only and lasts the duration of the game in which it is chosen.
Traits may not be taken by named Heroes or Monstrous Heroes (their fate is their own).
Not every trait can be used at the Carnival, so choose wisely!

Coconut Shy
1 Hero and their Warband gain Throws Stones
Knife Thrower
1 Hero gains Throwing Weapons and can shoot 3 times if remained stationary in the Move phase.
Strong Man
1 Hero gains +1 Strength
Carnival Horror
1 Hero causes Terror
Human Cannon Ball
1 Hero gains the Barge brutal power attack
Fortune Teller
1 Hero gains +1 Fate
Bill the Pony Ride
1 Hero counts as a Banner for their Warband only (not counted in To The Death!)
Dwarven Ale & Elven Wine
1 Hero consumes copious amounts of Wine & Ale and gains +1 Courage
Gandalf's Whizz Poppers
1 Hero gains Blinding Light 5+ (no Will required, may not be channelled)
Longbottom Leaf
The hero is unrivalled at puffing fantastical smoke rings of such magnificent splendour that all those around are drawn to him and can do nothing but gaze in awe!
1 Hero gains Enchanting Song: Eldamar Madrigal


Getting to the Club & Accommodation
The club is a few seconds walk from West Finchley tube station and there is ample free parking directly outside the hall and in neighbouring side streets.

Chumleigh Lodge http://thechumleighhotel.co.uk/ is the closest B&B and is walking distance from Finchley tube stations, the high street and the club.

Alternatively there's a Holiday Inn nearby that's a short drive from the club http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/gb/en/l ... directions

Food & Drink
Feel free to bring your own food and drink, otherwise there's a decent confectionery next door, or KFC and Subway are walking distance.

Got a big terrain delivery today. We're going to have a few new boards with some interesting themed terrain to play over. It's going to look pretty cool....... hopefully!

Last doubles there were 16 teams or something like that. ToS was up around 60 as Dr G said. I have had to make a last minute army change. Was finishing my last warband of dwarves and realised I didnt have enough shields :( tad annoying but I have got something else planned which seems to be working well in my test games.
