I am guessing most of you will have seen one or more of the Aliens, Predators or Aliens Vs Predators films at some point. Some were epic, some, well, a bit predictable. But the aliens, and the predators and their various human opponents were great concepts and now Prodos are bringing a game to Kickstarter. Well, actually this game is the beginning of a much larger system that is intended to build up to full scale wargames. The digital sculpts look great and the painted minis are mindblowing. Worth a look, if only to see what else will be coming along in 2014. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/513 ... e?ref=live Please feel free to hide behind the couch/sofa/whatever. |

Well Amy and me just had to back this one though it is stretching funds a bit as the Battle Systems Terrain Kickstarter is on a the sane time (but is also perfect for AvP). |

I am trying to resist. Seriously. I have nowhere to store this stuff! And funds are tight. But these are creatures and characters I have known since I first saw Alien in 1979, so they are tugging at my purse-strings with all their brutally prodigious strength. I will see what the next few days brings before making a decision. And all the lovely Deadzone terrain might find another use doubling as a Colonial habitat... I am talking myself into this... |

Nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. I am loving the idea behind this and so yeah, new shiny things syndrome. Dammit, I need this... |

Still talking to myself.... As the stretch goals are acheived and yet more goodies (nasties actually) emerge from the darkness. Maybe it is time to let Old Painless out of the bag.... |

I know this is getting serious when I create a multi-tabbed spreadsheet with permutations and combinations... a pretty sure sign that I will be dropping money on this one. Anyway, more stretch goals down and some new monstrosities coming soon - the Crusher! (£190K stretch goal) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/513 ... game/posts |

Well we're throwing as much as we can at this now (Christmas present to each other), AvP miniatures... yes please. I should imagine that we'll get to the Queen before the end so that will be nice as we going for the wargame so she'll be vital to my battle plan mwahahahaha |

I am skint beyond at the mo, but this project... BADDASS I have been wondering why I had never seen aliens and predator miniatures before. I really want them, it would be my first scifi twg. Also if the game makes it into full production how would I get my hands on the models, I don't understand how kickstarter works you see. |

The Kickstarter can either make a project feasible or can speed up and/or broaden the scope, so for example, Mantic's Dreadball Season 1 was more or less ready to go, but by the time the KS had ended we had funded all of Season 2 and 3 as well, including additional minis, special players, 2 expansions to the rules.... yadda, yadda, yadda. Anyway, Prodos is a very small company with the pedigree of Mutant Chronicles Warzone Resurrection under their belt and somehow they got the license for AvP. I feel they maybe should have flagged it up around the gaming world a bit more before the Kickstarter as this probably would have boosted the interest but they are over £200K already. You pledge a level, but the amount can be that or you can put more in to get extra minis and stuff. There are freebies and addons built into the pledges already, with more stuff the higher you go. And this is for the all-resin limited edition game - a plastic figures version should be released late 2014. |

Savage looking miniatures and about time too. I'll probably have to wait for the late 2014 release though. I hope this project continues development after the KS has ended or get another KS, be nice to see further characters from the different movies being produced. |

I think there is an issue with recognisable characters and the licensing, whereas there is no problem with generic marines, aliens and predators. They added some more information to the main page and the comments are, well, lively. |

Stuck £155 on this and £79 on the Battle Systems HULK set to go with it. My wife, and my wallet, hate me. DoS new releases will have to go on the backburner till at least Feb. but hey ho, it's Aliens after all! |

So, after careful examination of many options laid out on numerous tabs of a spreadsheet, I decided to join in the madness and went for 'Get to the Chopper!' The very lucky guys who got to play games with Prodos AND got freebie minis posted LOTS of pictures on the KS and said that the material was resilient, not brittle, held the detail very well, and the minis look even better in the flesh. I had to do it... Oh, I need a bigger house..... |
