We've just got into Dystopian Wars, by Spartan Games. That would be the fourth new game we've got into this year, in addition to our regular WoTR and Flames of War.

We were hooked by the models after a local got some painted up. How could you not like Zeppelins with Aircaft Carrier decks on top? Our floating Aircraft Carriers have yet to arrive but we both have starter-fleets painted (minus the battleships) and gave it a go last night:

The game can be pretty brutal but even frigates have a fair go vs larger ships.

That looks really fun, I like the board as well. I was wondering about doing something like that except more historical (yes i know i'm boring) what are the rules like?

The rules are suitably cartoony for the genre. At one point it got a lucky hit on a bomber and it teleported away from the battlefield. They basically give a Battlefleet Gothic type game, though I find Dystopian Wars more fun.

There are some pretty popular historical naval rules out there (I'm thinking eg: Victory at Sea or Trafalgar/Whatever that GW historical one was) so they might be worth a look?
