Anyone had a go at this game? It's a collectible miniatures game from Privateer Press (the makers of Warmachine), where you have rampaging monsters destroying each other in a city environment. Very much based on Godzilla-style movies.

I had a game of it today and it's a hoot. Quite a bit more complex than I was expecting, but still a lot of fun. Slamming your opponent's giant monster across a street and into a building (which subsequently bursts into flame) is enormously satisfying. :-D

I have not had the chance to play it yet, but from all I've seen in No Quarter magazine, the game looks amazing! I may have to run up to the hobby store and buy a few figures and play a few games of it...smashing things is fun :-D

Sounds like an average Friday/Saturday night in any nightclub area....

Maybe they should rename the game to "Oo you lookin' at"

I gave my Terrasaurs a workout at club last week. It was a great game. Most amusing and a LOT more tactical than any previous "collectible"/"clix" game I've played before.

The only downside, as many have moaned about before, is the whole "blind purchase" thing. I bought a booster for £10 last week and didn't get a single Unit for either of the factions I'm collecting - which was incredibly irritating! I'm getting the rest off eBay now. It's no more expensive if you count the cost of models you buy but don't want and can't swap, and you get what you want.

I would be pretty faultless if they stopped making it "blind purchase"! Although the cost for retailers and for consumers would likely be higher per model.

It'll be interesting to see whether PP persist in the collectible model when there remain very few companies continuing to operate the model for tabletop strategy games now Wizkids has folded and WotC have stopped doing it for D&D minis.

What are the factions you are collecting Paul?

I have started the Planet Eaters but will probably give that to my son and get another faction going for myself when I get another monster (either Shadow Sun or Cthul, not sure).

I will happily swap some units with you (or anyone here) if you want.
