Ok, this one hasn't even reached Kickstarter yet, but it looks incredible. Set in 1910, in the aftermath of the second Martian Invasion of Earth (the first invasion was the one described in HG Wells 'War of the Worlds'), this has all the classic elements with a bit of World War 1 and some steampunk/Dystopian Wars type technologies.
Have a look at the website. Quirky in some ways, but the Martian warmachines look fantastic. This is a 15mm scale game.

Something just hit me. 15mm scale... that means, with suitable adjustments, the game could be set in the era of World War 2, using Battlefront or Plastic Soldier Company or other brands of 15mm tanks and troops to fight off the Martians! Oh boy - Tigers versus Tripods! :)

Wow that looks awesome. And the miniatures look quite good for 15mm. Theres not enough first world war era minies out there. I really like the fluff as well!

Someone else pointed me to that KS a couple weeks ago. Although I'm not too interested in that game itself, you had the same thought as me regarding the scale. We already have an active Flames of War community locally and that plays WWII in 15mm. So I may see about getting some of those tripods and working out some rules to play them against the FoW units. It would make a fun Halloween period game (right now various fantasy zombie kills are the local choice for our Halloween bash but that doesn't grab everyone).

The Kickstarter is live now - lots of information here:

They have already hammered past the initial goal of $50K

Good luck to them! The miniatures are superb - some of them are designed by Alan Marsh, one of the best sculptors of the smaller scale figures.

I love the flamethrower tank and pretty much all of the Martian stuff! MUST RESIST...

There is an old saying that you can tell that someone is an intellectual by their being able to hear the William Tell Overture and not thing of The Lone Ranger.
I defy anyone over the age of 35 to look at All Quiet On The Martian Front and not think of Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds' epic.
