Hi all!
I'm a bit of lurker, and dont post very often, I think my last post was in january!
Anyway, I've always been a fan of lotr and they were some of the first movies I saw in the cinema when they first came out. I originally got into LOTR sbg way back when the movies were newly released but being young the majority of the minis had horrible paint jobs and a lot got damaged because of me mishandling of them.
Then as I grew up I got more into the WH40K side of the hobby and eventually ended up with quite a large space wolves force mostly unpainted by around 2010. I then sold this force because I got bored with the hobby having nobody near to play with, and having the task of painting this huge army. Skip two years and the first hobbit movie was released, this re-ignited my love and I bought the EFGT set, which I eventually did nothing with apart from assemble it all.
However, this got me into 40K and I once again started to collect space marines. And then as each new hobbit movie I would gain interest again and buy a few LOTR/Hobbit figures but they would remain unpainted.
Now with the LOTR/Hobbit sbg on the decline I've decided to get around to actually getting into the Lotr minis.
I have slowly been purchasing bits and bobs off ebay, grabbing good deals where I could as I eventually want to end up with a few sizeable forces of each of the factions represented in the films, and some of the movie scene sets such as Attack at Weathertop and Ambush at Amon hen.
Saying that, I have always been interested in the Fall of Arnor, and have decided that this will be my main army.
Apologies for that huge wall of text, I shall actually start to post some images now
So to begin with, just a boring pic of arvedui and 3 warriors of arnor!
Them some stock RoTN
Did a small conversion of one as I had two duplicates, so chopped the helmet off one and created this guy.
Now this is my favourite conversion. When I did this I was worried I was about to ruin one of my favourite figures in the entire LotR line but I am very happy with how it came out for such a simple conversion. So I present you with Halbarad with Spear.
Thank you all for looking and I hope to get painting these guys soon!
