Hi all,

Time to start my own WIP 8). I was looking at some old photo's and found these photo's of (some of) my mini's.
The quality isn't very impressive, but it might give you some idea what I've been up to. :P

So let's start with these 2 Osgiliath vets:

Cheers

And here we have a Mordor Troll I have converted a couple of years ago:

Image

He is still waiting to be painted, but I really dislike painting Troll skin

And here is a picture of the 3 painted Orc Banner Bearers I have. I had the model in the middle trice, so to add some diversity I converted the other 2 using plastic orcs. I know they aren't painted very well...

Image

On this picture Grishnákh and a Orc Taskmaster have joined forces with the Banner Bearers. I really enjoyed painting those 2. They are my best painted orcs so far. I know it's a crappy picture, but C&C is welcome anyway :)

Hi all

Here is a picture of my Gwaihir. I didn't like the plastic pin he is on, so I decided to make the base look like he is flying over some treetops.

I like to hear what you guys think!

I like your idea of Gwaihir flying over treetops, nice one!

I agree and think that the Taskmaster is your best one yet, the face looks great as far as I can see :)

I do like that troll conversion. Little changes make a big difference.
Also some very nice, vibrant paint jobs you have there, the Osgilliath veteran on the right looks the best imo. Very nice.

Thanks! What I like most about the troll is that it seems like he just picked up that rock :)

I agree on the face. I hope to make some better pictures in the near future :)

And for something completely new: I managed to finish Amdur :-D It's the first mini I have painted in over 2 years. I'm rather pleased with how he turned out :)

It was hard to get some decent pictures :? These must do for now...

I tried to make some better pictures of Amdur using tips I found at tOR. At least now you can see his gloves are purple :D
I'm afraid this will be the best quality I'll ever get using the camera on my phone

C&C on either the painting or the photography are welcome :)

Looks good mate. Looks like the paint on the free-hand designs at the front was a little thick. Try thinning it slightly and the paint will be a lot easier to control 8)

But overall, great work, especially as that's your first mini in 2 years! :)

Thanks man, I will try to thinning my paint next time :) I also figured I should get some new brushes for some extra control :)

And I really hope the next mini will be completed before another 2 years pass :P

Here we have another blast from the past:
I believe this was a 500pt game "defending the Great River". The Free Men defending the river were from both Gondor and Rohan. They faced a Mordor/Harad army.
Although the "Great River" isn't that Great, and there were 3 places one could cross the river, but the evil army didn't succeed in capturing the West bank!

Warg riders crossing the Anduin:

Dalamyr "bravely" planning a new attack while the Mordor Orcs get some Harad Raiders reinforcements to crush the Rohirrim, whose Captain is showing of holding a dead Orc as a shield :-D

I like the black guard banner design on the orc banner it looks great.
Amdur looks awesome, gritty armour and with freehanded cloth which works well with the model, might have to steal that idea i think.

Post subject:  Re: Baardeend's Big Book: Chapter Feral Uruk Hai

Time for a little update :)

I finally had time to pick up a brush again :) This time: two Feral Uruk-Hai. I got my Ferals thanks to the trading post. As a little joke I painted the flags of my trading buddies on their old Feral :P .

Paliouras' on the left and Necromancer7's on the right ;)

C&C welcome :)
Ps. the models aren't shiny in real life, I have tried various tips to improve my pictures, but I think I just need a better camera

Love the flag loincloths. That's hilarious!

Flag loincloths - that has to be a first. If the old gold coin system was still working I would give you some just for making me laugh. Nice work on the conversions and the Easterling freehand painting.
Tip on the photos - crop out anything you do not need in the image. Even MS Paint can do that. Select what you want, open a new file, paste in the selected stuff and name it.

Thanks :-D Now I only need to decide which flags I will paint on the other Ferals :P

Thank you very much:) Now I only need time to paint all my conversions  And I have bought a new very small brush to try and improve my freehand. :)

Thanks for the tip! As you can see below I figured it out ;)

And now it's time for something new:
I have finished this months painting challenge with time to spare ;)
Without further ado I would like to show you my Helmingas Hornblower:

I'm very happy how he turned out. I don't think I've ever used so many layers to make a smooth transition between colours. I'm most proud of the red horn :-D And I must say the freehand horse on the shield worked out better than expected

C&C welcome as usual :)

Another little update. First of is a Corsair Captain I painted rather fast to table top quality. I also used him to test the colourscheme I want to paint all my corsairs in: dark blue, purple, grey and brown:

And as a little bonus a conversion I have been working on:
