My Radagast is almost done, unfortunately no picture of him yet. Im also painting couple animals to accompany him on he's journeys.

Sometimes you can make great finds when you least expect them, here are few things that i came across recently.

From wargaming store at Hong Kong i found this set. Many sweet things here as you can tell, but what was pretty amazing were Corsair Bosun and Captain new in a box! I was lucky to spot them at random cardboard box among many other products they just wanted to get rid of. They were also at serious discount...

Yesterday i popped spontaneously to a flea market and spotted various lotr miniatures, mostly plastic figures that are easy to get, but there were few gems amongst them.

But what sealed the deal was Faramir riding a Cold one! That is something you just don't see everyday!

Awesome finds and definitely didn't brake the bank! Just grew my immense backlog!

To close of this post i'm leaving you with shot of my latest finished models. Next time it will be back to Middle-Earth again!

Here is Galadriel i painted for last months hobby challenge! I also entered this at another painting contest after it and that's where these photos are from :)

I actually used regular 20mm base for her, but wanted her to stand out bit more so i mounted it on 40mm one, like mini display base!

Something I'm working just now, Arnor cavalry. Shield is obviously wrong, i need to decide how shall i handle it. I could mould actual one, but i have already painted all of my warriors of Arnor... Other option is to get rid of that white tree and freehand something there, we shall see :) Im still not sure should I give him a cape or not... My plan is to make just couple of these and one captain or prince type of a character, for small nice hobby project :)

I also have Halbarad and few Dunedain rangers coming up!

That model looks like a great fit - lovely figures aren't they, the Perry plastics?

Great idea to choose perry staff for arnor. Gw made a good late medieval theme for this army and continuing this is excellent.

It has been a while!
I have several Middle-Earth projects on my desk right now, Photobucket came back and the new edition is just out so I figured it would be a great time to start posting again!

Here we have a small 4 miniature test group for Dol Amroth. For many years I have been planning to make a small project about Gondors war on Umbar and Harad. These guys will get desert like bases, but i figured it can be interpreted as beach as well, which is fitting for men of Dol Amroth! They will get shields from GW's Knights of Dol Amroth box set.

Hows that a WIP? It looks better than anything I would paint.

Pretty great proxies. I always thought if you fought on boats it would be better to wear mail than plate armour, though I wouldn't want to try and swim in either.

Yeah! I was planning to make few unarmored ship guards etc. If I find proper models to use as a base i just might!

Out of spontaneous inspiration I wanted to try something completely different: Speed paint a model using washes only! So i grabbed one original metal Uruk Hai scout model and gave it a go.

First the model was sprayed grey, then I painted the metal parts with Vallejo Gun Metal and the bow brown. After this I used three different washes on top of the base coat. Lastly I painted some white hands and edge highlights on the metal parts. So relaxed and fast!

I was happy with the result and soon more Uruk Hai followed! Still need to finish the bases and maybe add few more white hands.

Very nice! Been thinking about speed painting some evil using mostly washes, nice to see it works.

Like how you did them quickly with washes but still took the time to string the bows 8)

Thank you! Give it a go, much fun :)

Few more orcs for the warband, orc from the Misty Mountains (as in the book), Uruk Hai warrior with two handed axe and Uruk Hai scout riding a Warg!
