Aye! I've introduced myself in the appropriate thread, and like I said, I'd like to present you my paintjobs. Forgive me for the overall bad quality of the pictures, I try to do better every time, but usually just fail miserably. If you have any questions, feel free to ask - I'll answer it if I can.

Welcome, they look nice. Subtle shading and highlighting.
The Rohan plate armour could do with a dark brown / black wash to tone it down,

Thanks :) I've ran out of black wash, and there'll be a convention at the 7th of December where I intend to buy some, and use it on the Rohan Warrior as well as the goblins' weapons.

I like the rangers. the light green is a great focal point.

You can use regular black and thin it a lot.

I could but I don't want to :) I really like Vallejo and their washes, and watered down black requires too much mixing, and that time could be spent on painting minis. Some PVA glue is recommended for making washes from acrylic black, at least experts say so.

Thanks folks! I'll upload some more as soon as I finish them, currently a company of Rohirrim footmen is on my painting desk - including the warrior seen in my first post, whose shield button I forgot to paint :)

It's an unfortunate thing but to improve you need to know how to thin paints, it's just one of those things.

I blame my poor photographing skill if it seems anywhere that I could not do that :D I'm painting for a couple of years now, and the first thing my father taught me many years ago is to thin my paints. That body armor looks too shiny possibly because I've used Mithril Silver (again, ran out of paint, and I'll wait till the convention to get some paints that I lack), and adjusted brightness in Picasa.

I think the main point is how far you want to take your painting. If it's to a table top standard then they are great, if you want to push your level then there are many things to learn.

I am aware of that, my main goal is not Golden Daemon 1st place :) They are for gaming, and to keep myself entertained. There are lots of things I should learn, like wet blending, NMM, and so far. And my minis look better if I use more than three different shades to paint them, but sadly an argument I've never understood when I started - I don't have time for that. I already have hundreds if not thousands of minis laying around in boxes in my room and on shelves, so if I paint ALL of them to the highest standard possible, I should probably hibernate myself and only come back to life when immortality has been achieved :) Thank you for your comment, and I hope that this journey in this forum will help me improve in some aspects.

No problem, it's like I say, what standard you want, and that's the most important thing, what you want, not what others think. Best of luck and I will always be about if you need any pointers.

After a brief period of silence, I'm back :) I couldn't paint as many LotR as I intended in the meanwhile, I mostly bought stuff for my armies...so, here are some things I finished in the meanwhile.

Image

Faramir for a friend. I have the same model, but sadly without a right arm. If anyone have a spare arm for him, feel free to message me :)

Lurtz. It was a rather quick paintjob, as the model is mostly black.

Laser-cut movement tray, based.

Hehe :D Behold the mighty Boromir of Sausagebelt! I think the flash is what gives this impression, as I used Beasty Brown from Vallejo. Thank you very much, before I forget :)

Thank you very much! I've painted some minis since my last update, but I need to varnish and base them - when it's done, pics will follow!
