Greetings, once again. Rather than having one large, unwieldy WIP thread which is nearly impossible for others to reference, I have decided to start individual logs for my various projects. The project that I am currently working on is Thorin's Company. I have the Escape from Goblin Town set and I am slowly working my way through the Company. My plan is to eventually get the Barrels out of Bond set as well. Finally, with each project I like to include a terrain piece that is themed to the collection, so for my Thorin's Company, I will do some river terrain to go with the Barrels out of Bond set. I've been using the painting guides over at Tale of Painters to help me figure out which colors go where, although I've tweaked some of the paints used. You should check them out. You won't be disappointed! Anyway, here is the progress I've made so far... Thorin's Company
**Note: Please forgive my photography. I've been tweaking my photography setup, but I'm still no great shakes with a camera. |

Here is Gandalf. I rotated his hand a bit, because I didn't care for the pose as it came out of the box. |

Bilbo Baggins. I had forgotten just how tiny hobbits are! |

Thorin Oakenshield. I put the Oakenshield on his base, so I can equip him with it if I want (It IS on the model!), but I don't have to. I chose to use Orcrist, since there is the Young Thorin model with his other sword. |

Gloin. The red hair was a lot of fun to do on this one, especially since it needed to be distinct from the red clothes. |

Bombur. This is my son's favorite of the bunch. |

Balin. For some reason, I really enjoyed painting his beard. |

Bofur. He's got a surprising amount of detail, and I thought he was going to be boring. |

Fili. This pose is weird, but I like how he turned out. |

Dori. I thought the purple turned out pretty good on him. |

Very nice work. A little dark brown wash on the gold will help set it off. |

The latest addition to the Company, Dwalin! I attempted to do the tattoos on the top of his head, fingers, and forearms with some Asurmen blue wash. I don't know if I'm completely happy with how it turned out, but it works for the tabletop, which is what I'm going for. Let me know what you think! |

I think he looks great, judging by the tatto on the arm, how about some on his head ? |

Thanks! I did put some tattoos on the top of his head, I just put them towards the back. The big picture of him in the rulebook had the tattoos starting towards the back of his head. You can sort of see them in the second picture. |
