So many excellent WIP threads here, I hesitate to put my own up.

Normally before finding this site, or TLA I would just post on my blog, but this seems like a cool way to share too. So here goes.

Edit: Sorry I guess I'm still on newbie probation, I hit post and thougth I could edit it quickly.

Here we go:
I just finished Celeborn, so I thought a small photo shoot was called for.

Some nice work there. The detailing on the mirror base is fantastic.

That shading on Legolas is a standout for me, as well as the The Mirror. Beautiful work on that. Might be the angle, but Celeborn's eyes look a bit big for his face... Always a difficult stage. Following with interest!

Now that is some way to demonstrate your painting, basing and photographic talents - beautiful work! And it does bring fond memories of the Lothlorien scenes :)
Very well done - looking forward to seeing more.

I finished Tauriel the other day, and what a great plastic kit.

When I saw the pictures I thought she would be too tall standing on that log, and I was thinking I'd cut her off it, or trim it down some.

After getting her and the Mirkwood Rangers I see the female elves are a bit shorter than the male elves. So I left her on alone and painted her as is. Plus that tree stump base looks great painted up.

I am happy with the way she came out, except her face and hair. I will most likely touch up or repaint that part of the model. But first I want to finish the Mirkwood Rangers.

A few more pics on my blog:

Now Tauriel and Thranduil have somebody to lead into battle. My Mirkwood Rangers are ready to go. I really enjoyed painting these. GW raises the industry bar for plastic kits on this set.

Now 24 orcs on the painting table....

Welcome to the forum :).

I first have to comment on the amazing scenery. It reminds me of the scenery used in BGiME: it is that good! The trees are excellent and fitting for an Elven glade in the middle of Mirkwood.

Your Celeborn and Galadriel are excelent 8) ; my only criticism is that the former's brows are a bit too prominent.

Your Rangers and Tauriel are likewise nicely painted; I have to agree with you that their hair and faces are not so fitting of Elves. I would tone down their flesh and use more highlights on the hair.

Oh, and your bases are among the best I've seen!

Here is my Proxy for Beorn in Bear Form. It's a plastic pre-painted D+D figure, Cave Bear.

This is a great thread! Your bear looks really cool and I love your photography set-up! It makes the minis really pop! Do you mind me asking A) How you light it? And B) Where the trees are from?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

The bear is brilliant and fits quite closely to what we saw in the movie and basing it with the warg just finishes it off nicely.
