Hi all, Long time prowler, first time poster in honour of some conversions I've been doing that I thought I'd put up here for comments/creative criticism. My plan is to have five of these bad boys in total. So without any further ado, here they are as they stand right now: This first one was by far easier and is completed in terms of the conversion. This second one was a bit more troublesome as although the pose of the ranger made it quite easy to cut him in half the non sword arm looked a bit strange so that was rotated a bit to look more natural. He is nearly finished, I just need to put a bit of chain mail on the non sword arm to complete the conversion. I'm also not sure what to do about the back of the second one's cloak because as you can see it doesn't quite fit on the horse, in fact it doesn't fit without a gap on any of the horses that I have. Once these two are finished I'm going to do one with a bow but after that none of the ranger sculpts really lend themselves to the mounted look so I don't know how much further I'm going to get. |

They look great. Re. the gap - could you lengthen the bottom of the cloak just enough to cover the gap? |

Lovely looking. Perhaps a rolled up pack or something, like a sleeping roll or a kit bag? Fairly simple sausage of greenstuff, in essence. |

Great work, I think DMS is right about filling in the gap to make a perfect miniature. I could do with a couple of these guys, why have I not done this before? I look forward to seeing it painted. Good luck! |

Hmm, I think I'll make a saddlebag or two and see how it looks perched behind. |

I am sure that you will do a great job mat, I am watching to see how you get on and would like to do something similar in the far flung future (I have somewhat of a backlog at the moment!). The idea of doing the odd conversion like this rather than my usual working on whole units or armies at the time does feel more relaxed, something achievable over a couple of evenings or a weekend can be so pleasurable! |

Finally got one of them all done, painted and based. The other guy is in the same state as before, I'll get around to finishing him sometime. Let me know what you think! |

To fill the gap - instead of manipulating the cloak, just have a bedroll or similar 'soft' item that could realistically have been stowed behind the seat of the saddle - should be relatively easy to sculpt too. Best of luck! |

Very nice work on the mounted ranger, a successful conversion can wait to see more from you, especially since you are a Moria Goblin Prowler. |

Thanks for all the feedback, this will definitely spur me on to finish the one I have and get a couple more done after that. |

Turns out all of that support really does help, here's the other mounted ranger all finished. Thanks again for all the lovely comments on the previous ranger, hopefully this one comes up to the same standard. |

Great work! The conversion is neatly done, and so is the painting! Love the detail of the bedroll by the way. |
