So I've started putting together my board, I changed and went for a 4x4 instead of 6x6, but may expand it later. Attachment: Pic 1.jpg Picture from the front. In the space at the side I wish to add a mountain type bit, with a path going through the middle but unsure how to at the moment. Attachment: Pic 2.jpg River going through the fortress. Attachment: Pic 4.jpg The foam is where I want the mountain. Any advice is wanted, thanks |

Looks like a nice project, I will follow this! How big are you planning to let the mountain be? |

Looking good so far! Can't wait to see it finished! Will the river be a water-river, or a lava-river? |

Water river, that used to be an old dwarven quarry, that when fighting started stopped being in use and eventually got full of water. I might put bits of gold in it aswell. The mountain will hopefully be about the size of the foam, dunno how thick though. I want to put a bit of mountain down the middle of the board in between the stairs and platform so one side will be the outside of the fortress and the other bit inside. |

Ruins eventually, not full buildings as my way of thinking is half of the board will be inside the fortress so I see it as a big building But am hoping to have a ruined tomb there and use MOM stuff |

I would love to start a project like this but foam just seems to be so expensive coupled with having to pay crazy prices for this hobby that is something i cannot afford unless you know of somewhere to get fairly cheap foam? But this board has the beginnings of something special, i will following it with great intent, and much contempt as i wont be playing on it |

This is where I bought the stuff from http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/02robbo?_trks ... 7675.l2559 it's the cheapest I've found and always comes quickly and in good quality. I can't wait to actually play on it but will have to wait till I finally finish it, which is taking ages to do each thing due to work, I guess that will make it more worth while when I play on it |

So work has got me doing lots of over time which is great for my project as it allows me to buy everything I need Here's the next step not a big one as I'm in a vital point of my D&D campaign and have been planning loads of it. Attachment: Pic 5.jpg I'm using polyfiller to help stabilize my pillars and will eventually build it up to rubble. Attachment: Pic 6.jpg The scrap foam will be used for rubble along with sand and stone that is currently drying in my conservatory (it's been there for a week and is still wet) Attachment: Pic 7.jpg I know the pillars are different but thats to look like they have been destroyed and stuff from battle, I will weather them aswell if I can find a good way how to. Still unsure about how to do the mountain so any ideas are welcome |

Looking great! Do I detect a hint of Battle For Middle Earth in your design? |
