So after a long hiatus from painting anything Tolkien based I am back trying to paint hal decent minis again. The reason (mainly) for stopping painting these was a serious deterioration in my eyesight that made it pretty much impossible to see the fine details on these small minis, however I am going to attempt to have another go, I have got some fairly strong glasses now that will help though even with them please don't expect the same quality I used to produce on the Lotr range. The base is from Secret Weapon and is basically a WWI trench themed base I thought that the mixture of duckboarding and loose dirt/ stony terrain would work well for Goblin Town. |

That skin tone is rather lovely! I really like the base as well, Secret weapon make gorgeous bases! Nice idea to use it for this purpose! I look forward to seeing your progress. |

Ive done some more work on Gandalf, the inner robes are now done and I 've added the base colours and shades to the outer robes, its a bit untidy at the moment but all that will change as the highlights go on. I've stuck with the grey for inner and outer robes I don't like GW's use of a bluey grey on the inner area, after looking at countless stills of Gandalf I fel this is the right way to go. |

If this is not up to your usual standard, then what the heck did you usually make? It's gorgeous |

Lovely to see your painting again. It's a joy to see these little works of art. The sculpt looks very detailed from your pictures, would you agree or is it just your painting? |

I agree with the previous posters, if your eyesight is handicaping you on your painting, it certainly isn't showing on this figure. That face is wonderfully done! I can't wait to see the mini once you are finished. |
