Another model from the Moria Goblins. This time is Durburz, the old goblin king. He's a lot smaller than the new one :)

Post subject:  Re: Moria Goblins

Thanks, 100 goblins all in three base colours of lead belcher, mech red and knarloc green and a liberal wash of devlan mud. it took longer to base them than paint them :-D

Looking very good! And for such a fast paintjob. My gobbo's always require a lot more time than they should (while I'm normally a really fast painter).

They make a very impressive horde too.

I like to see lots of goblins. The warg marauder is stunning. Nice horde. Hordes to me mean 100+, not 20 or 30. Great stuff!

Really great work. Could you show some close-ups of your moria goblin warriors? I'm really interested in how they look, since I've still got a lot of moria goblins lying around, and maybe your method is the best way to paint them, as I want to paint them really fast.

This is the a close up of the goblins you asked for.

it is a little unclear but you can see a couple that are in focus. we used to call them 3-stage goblins. starting with a black undercoat the technique was to;
1. give them a heavy wet brush of bolt gun metal, dont worry if you go over the lines. (try to avoid the hair so it leaves it black)
2. a wet brush to pick out the red bits
3. a wet brush pick out the knarloc green bits
(optional) a bit of beastial brown on any bows/ quivers

then a liberal coating of devlan mud to shade the red/rusty the armour/shade the skin
they take about 5 mins each to the devlan mud stage then another 20 for them to dry :-D
i did them all in one go at the time but it was really monotonous. i think i would have found it easier to do it in batches of 10/15

hope this helps
