Hi there everyone Was toying around with a Heroes of the West Eomer and a Rohan infantry with spear and decided to convert them. Eomer: I cut off his right arm at the elbow, repositioned it, removed his sword and replaced it with the infantryman's speer. Then I filled in the gaps with (liquid) green stuff. Easy! Rohan Captain: I cut off this guy's right arm at the elbow too (I think I might have a problem...), repositioned it and replaced the speer with Eomer's sword. After drying, I filled the gaps with GS and gave him a chainmail coat (elbows and between the legs) for good measure! A simple conversion without any spare parts needed. Will paint either tonight or this weekend, am also working on a shield for Eomer... Would love any suggestions or feedback! |

The best conversions are often the simplest Matt, and you've proved that correct today! Nice work! How is liquid green stuff then? Is it just for filling gaps? I really need to get some hobby supplies this next few months. |

Thanks Shieldmaiden! I'm quite new to liquid Green Stuff so I might not be the best to ask, I use it mainly for filling small gaps (for example when two parts don't fit together seamlessly) and for giving parts a smooth finish (for example when you sculpt something out of regular GS and the surface is still a bit rough). It thins down well like a paint, so best to put some on your palette and add a few drops of water instead of taking straight from the pot. All in all it's quite a good investment I find and there's a lot in one of those little pots! |

You could indeed, Sid! Or even reattach the sword so it looks like Eomer is signalling a charge! And maybe I should make a WIP thread, is it just like making a normal forum thread? |

So here's Eomer with throwing spear and shield: The shield was made from scratch and turned out pretty well, I think! I copied the design off a Rohan shield I found on google. I'm thinking of making a duplicate to give to my mounted Eomer for continuity Tomorrow (probably): The captain of Rohan! |

Thanks samoht and Wah Wing! So I finished my Rohan Captain today... Note how different he looks from Friday I decided to give him an even more dynamic pose by removing his knee, regluing the foot and adding a Green Stuff rock. Deciding that wasn't enough, I then sculpted him a decorative horsetail for his helmet, as well as a bow and quiver (hey, I was bored). Then to top it all of I added a few decorative arrows (made from old staples) with Green Stuff fletchings. I had quite a bit of fun painting this Captain, I decided to give him a very weathered look, like he'd been through the wars. I'm especially pleased with how his shield looks! If you have any questions, hit me up |

That is an awesome captain, lovin' the pose! The only thing I would do is take the arrows out of the rock, or make the rock into a pile of dirt...my only niggle on this one. |

I'm quite glad that i stumbled across this older threat here. I recently got a cheap Eomer on ebay with his sword broken off. But I think instead of making a new sword for him I'll steal your idea with the spear! Looks fantastic! |

Love these! Eomer looks great painted, and the subtle mods to the captain look amazing finished. Given me an idea to do a similar mod to a large lot of my riders, the horsetail makes that helmet go from a 4 to a 10!! |
