I began by sawing the orc heads off with a razor saw. I used a 3/16 drill bit to prepare a surface for the Wargames Factory head I intend to use. I use Testors plastic glue mostly because I have used it successfully for 50 years.I am working with the Mordor orcs first because I have a lot that I never used. They are not favorites.

I mentioned they were not favorites because my least favorite poses may turn out the best.

I have a few ideas for some more radical conversions in mind for tomorrow.

Please let me know what you think

that prep work with the drill is amazing, how hard is that to do?

The drill bits are very hard and sharp. All you need to do is turn it with your fingers. It works like a counter sink. Small bits will require a pin vice. 3/16 is large enough not to.

I like these conversions. I agree the GW orcs aren't great. You've managed to make them a lot more orcish - and much more interesting. Your conversion work is really inspiring me to try my own conversions. Looking foward to seeing the progress.

Converting my least favorite orc required me to remove his head and both arms.

You can see I have started a full torso swap as well.

They look great 8)
I'm not sure about the 2h Uruk, he looks a bit like he's dropping his weapon and fumbling to catch it. If you put his hands around the weapon haft this would solve it I think. Just my opinion though.

Some of the weapons fit better than others. I will fix it when I glue it up.

I think , if possible it would helpt to if u make the space between both hands bigger. His hands seems to be placed to close to each other. If i am not mistaking?

I can file them a bit if need be. Positioning the weapon on the left side of the body helps too.

Great conversions, it's really nce to see some of the less inspiring orc poses looking good.
