After far too long I am finally back to painting. I'm expanding my goblin horde with box of wargs and their chieftain but I just don't know what to do with them. I tried out a grey colour scheme but I found the brown colour scheme a lot easier. I've posted them both as wouldn't mind using either though I need some advice on how to improve them.

I'm not a big fan of GW's colour scheme, I prefer the fur and the face and legs to be a similar colour though I'm thinking that the contrast it provides could be helpful. As I said I'm quite at loss as to what to do with them so please leave some suggestions and advice. Thank you

They look good. You may need some contrast to make them look a little less bland but lots of highlights tends to do the job. P.S, like your quote btw 8)

Yay! He's back! Great to see you painting again. The warg looks pretty good. I think I like the first one a bit better than the second, but they both look good. Your signature is also pretty awesome too 8)

Nice. They have great aesthetic. 8)

Have you dry-brushed the fur because it looks brilliant.
Lets see... Advice... Stronger highlights on the face and claws can really improve the look. Also, a build up of tone works well for grey (I painted my Warg Chieften a Grey/White colour scheme) by using Codex Grey, Fortress Grey, 1:1 mix White/Fortress Grey and then a gradual lighter dry-brush of 1:2, 1:3 and eventually pure White (albeit very lightly).

Pictures look a little dark so it is kinda hard to see well but they both look pretty good.

For my own wargs I based them in a light brown, drybrushed a darker brown just on the upper half of the fig, made the face an even darker brown, added details and then used army painter quickshade. Took about 10 minutes to do 18 wargs (and then 24 hours to dry) and I think they look great

Thank you for suggestions guys.
I think I will try out your colour scheme on the next one Dragon of Moria. I tend to be quite conservative with my highlighting, my lightest dry brush on the grey one was with codex grey. Adding a little white to the mixture will add some much needed contrast.
Thanks for your suggestion as well Raukov. I was going to be lazy and hope that the paint would help to hide the gap. Though there are only six of them and the gap won't be too hard to fix with some green stuff. I'll get to work on fixing up those gaps.

I feel that this one turned out a lot better than the previous two. Thank you guys for your input.

This last one is very nice. I would have tried a dark (black-brown) skin for the face and paws. The fur is great. Though there is rally no need to change anything on this one. 8)

Could you specify what you liked about the first one? I could incorporate those touches into the coming wags.

@BizzareWarstar: I painted the mane with chaos black. I don't know about the green, it must be the lighting or something like that.
I've gotten two more painted, though they still need basing. I didn't add the brown wash this time. Please leave C&C

I definitely like it better with the brown wash. Otherwise, it looks good.

I can't really explain it to well :? It feels wild, i think those several stripes in the fur might be a part of it. Might be a good idea to do variations in the fur - like dogs and wolves have.

Both of these are great. I like the one on the right more since there is greater contrast in the fur (darker shades), although this might just be the position in the photo?

I think that hint of brown really makes their fur stand out.

You need more colour in them.
