It's been a while since I've had time to work on my minis but with summer finally here I can get back to work. I am working on repainting all of my rangers, as can be seen in my old WIP. Once that is done I'll be getting to work on my others dwarves, and some terrain and goblins here and there. First of all is my goblin shaman, repainted. He's not really a work in progress any more but comments, criticisms, and advice would be greatly appreciated. And two rangers, likely the last for awhile. Please leave feedback |

Thank you for you comments. I've finished the two rangers. How do you paint the areas, they're hard to describe though I'll try my best, where there's plastic but no detail, like on the first ranger, on the other side of the top of the bow which you can't see in the picture, where there is a plastic the in between the clothing and the bow which is in the shape of the bow? I could just paint it like the bow but it wouldn't like right because then the upper half of the bow will be thicker than his arms but it wouldn't make sense to paint it like the armour either. There are a lot of places like this on the dwarf warriors and rangers so I was wondering how other people handled them. Comments and criticisms are welcome. Also, what is the difference between GW's static grass and glade grass? I'm considering getting some but I don't know which one to buy. |

Yeah, I hate that bit of blobby extra plastic. For the most part I paint it black. I know you could probably use a tiny knife or something and de-sculpt it, but I can never be bothered on so many minis. You do get it on some of the metals too, like the Iron Guard in one particular pose. I find that if you black it out you can't really see it from a distance when playing with it. Rangers look great, I really like the colour choices you're using. I also really like the swirly green on the cloaks. |

Dwarf rangers are looking good! I think one extra highlight to the sharpest areas on the back of the cloaks would make them even better. |

Thank you captain krak for your suggestion. I've been quite conservative with my highlighting but the extra highlights really made them look a lot better, though I may have done a little too much. |

From the pics, I don't think you overdid it all. They look great. My thought is always, "How will it look on the table?" If my highlights or shading look good with a closeup camera and macro, but are difficult to make out at all on the table, I consider it a fail. Your rangers look like a win to me. |

I like them, I don't think the extra highlight wrecked them, on the contrary I think they now look very nice. |

I'm very happy with them myself. Here are the next two. I still need to add a couple glazes to the cloak before adding final highlights before it is done. The faces will have to be repainted. I'm very excited about basing them as it will be my first time using static grass. After these two I'll be moving on to some more interesting colour schemes. Please leave feedback. |

As you said the face could use a re-do. Is this cloak lighter than the other two? It looks liike it could use a couple of dark glazes in the recesses. |

Looking very good. I like the work you did on the cloak. Looking forward to seeing the bases with the grass. It's amazing how a little extra attention to the base makes the whole model stand out. |

Other than the cloaks and areas of flesh needing some work, I also think the hair and beards could do with some more defined highlights (especially on the first Dwarf). They're coming along nicely though, keep up the good work. |

I used too much grass on their bases but I'm really happy with how they turned out, especially when compared with the others. I've touched up the cloaks, these were meant to be brighter than the ones on the previous two, as well as some other details. I'm still not at all happy with the face of the first one but I've decided to let him be as it seems as if my efforts are making it worse but I will add some highlights to the hair. |

Highlights on the cloak and the rest of the clothing is great However your highlights are a little flat on the flesh - even if you have built up over layers, the use of one coverage paint means that there is no contrast at all. Keep it up! |
