I would like to paint a batch of WoMT in an alternate colour scheme to represent warriors from Lebennin a province of Gondor.

Lebennin, loosley translated means "five rivers" notably because there are five rivers that begin around the region. There is not much material related to Lebennin or its livery. It is mentioned about the 'green fields' around Lebennin and I found one artists impression of a soldier from Lebennin in orange.

So my test subjects below are: Blue (for the rivers) Green (for the green fields) and Orange (from the artists impression)

The pictures is not that great, even to the point where its very hard to pick up the green. To use your imagination the blue is regal blue, green is dark angles and the orange is washed in red ink. Both the green and blue were given washes of their own colour also.

Please have a look and reply with what you would like to see this company be painted in, any contructive critisim, or ideas are also welcome.

I will continue with this as a WiP and plan on 24 WoMT a captain and a banner to start with.

I like blue since they rely on the rivers and sea - and it also looks good :)

Thanks for your reply.

I forgot to say that the painting is very ruff, just to show the style, it will tidier on the actual mini's.

np, that's what I figured (I do the same thing when I can't decide on a paint scheme).

I'd go with the green, but make it a bit lighter or add some Snakebite Leather to the mix, they have a few green WoMT's in the WotR Rulebook which look pretty good 8)

All look good, but blue is my favorite, although to make them stand out a little more why not add a white band to the skirt of the tunic.

Have you thought of using them as the warriors of the fiefdoms instead? Green for Pinnath Gelin, Blue for Dol Amroth and red for Pelargir...

I like the blue most, and that's not just because I do my WoMT blue. The green and orange don't really fit in very well IMHO, but the green could look a bit better if it was lighter, but I'd still go with the blue.

Orange is my favourite colour, so I vote for that.

Blue is my favoutite here - I think it matches the silver armour very well. Green is very nice too, though I would make it a bit brighter.

I'm going for a Shadow Grey on mine.

Keep in mind the other models you're going to have in your army. For example, if you're going to have Rangers, make sure whatever colour you chose works on them as well. The same applies to any models in you army, including heroes (will Boromir/Aragorn look good in orange?).

I'm Planning this to be a reinforcmnet compnay so it wont have any epic/named hero's, A captain and banner etc. I may extend it to include some knights at some stage.

Thanks for the input guys.

This may be a little late but I think you could incorporate some of gondor redesigned ideas. There was a whole thread on this on the TLA though was lost when the site went down.
One of my favourite, which I could be useful to you, was the idea of cutting and filing down the plate armour on the legs so that they fit in with the clothing. Then those areas along with the breastplate can then be painted as part of the clothing extending your "canvas." With the extra area you could then combine the orange and the blue or add some other interesting details.

A light green would look quite good. Or a similar colour to the trousers of the dead ranger (on the base of a Warg Chieftain) which can be found in my gallery.
