Hey guys this is my first WIP thread. I am currently making a Haradrim army. I have 12 Raiders and 36 warriors 1 War Mumak 1 chieftain Its not very big but its what I have at the moment. I am converting most of the soldiers because I really like the modelling part of it all. I am actually sculpting A Haradrim king and Suludan from scratch. Here are some pictures For the models I am sculpting, they are my first ever attempts at sculpting something from scratch. I am aware that their proportions aren't perfect so if your gonna critisize then make it constructive please. Here is the Harad king. He is yet to be completed. He is going to have a cloak, which I have already sculpted most of. [/img] Here is Suludan. He looks a lot different from the GW version, because I used my imagination. However I based most of his head off the Immortals from the movie 300. It is a mask by the way. He is still in construction. And here is the Task Master I am converting. (I am temproarily holding his components on with blue tack.) I am converting him out of an archer. I am making him very similar to the GW one, coz I quite like that model. That sword he is holding is just a scrap piece of greenstuff I had. Its only to test out how he looks with a sword. I'll probs give him some cloth covering his mouth and nose. More pictures to come. Sorry if these pics are too big. |

Wow this thread will be one to watch! I immediately recognised the Immortal mask which you have given Suladan, it's a great idea and as for proportions, well they seem just fine to me. Can't wait to see more! |

Great conversions, samoht. I particularly like the Taskmaster, a simple but effective conversion. Your sculpts are also very nice. I look forward to seeing more of your Haradhrim army. |

Its been a while and I haven't done much more on my army. I have pretty much completed sculpting my Haradrim KIng. I just need to stick him to the base. I have stuck Suludan to his base, and have started making his swords. As soon as I stick them on, then he will be finished. Not much progress with the Rest of the haradrim. Here's some horribly blurry pics of the two hero's. I do apologize for their blurriness, but you've seen them in the other pics. I have been planning to sculpt a shade for ages and someone else here was sculpting a shade, which gave me enough motivation to eventually start my own. I am currently creating its basic anatomical structure, so its will not resemble a shade. Here is is at the moment. When it is finished it will look heaps better. |

The King looks great. I'm especially impressed by the cloak and the sword. However his armour seems a little disproportional. I'm waiting to see them painted. Good luck with the shade. |

The King looks great! His cape is stunning! His mid-section looks a little odd though. |

Yes, I always thought his chest armor was a bit weird. Very un-haradrim like. Oh well. It is supposed to be like he has had armor made for him that was supposed to make his torso look stronger. Remember that its was my first sculpt ever so anything that I thought looked remotely good at them time, was something I was pretty pleased with. Can anyone give me any tips to fix it up? I don't want to fix it up, but if there is a really good suggestion then I may take it on board. thanks. EDIT: I have just had an idea. Just under those chunky Pectoral armour plates, I may add a bit more chunky armour there. It will make it look more in proportion. There was too much contrast between the big pecs and the flatter tummy area. Thanks for pointing out the problem there guys. |

Love the large cloak, i think more GW minis should have large regal cloaks. James |

James Only the Regal minis though, of course. Very good sculpts, Samoht, the Haradrim king has come out extremely well. Can't wait to see your minis finished. |

Thanks guys. I can't wait to see them finished either. They have been lying around my work area getting minimum attention for the best part of a year. |

I would cut off the top bits and extend the cloak over it, leaving the part over the stomach as it is quite good already. That way it would look similar to the one on the right. If you are more ambitious you could give him a collar like the one on the king. Great work so far though, a lot better than my attempts. |

I'll have a think about it to decide if I go with your idea. I am a bit cautious to change it all, but your idea does have potential. Thanks. |
