Been working a lot with green stuff and my Great Beast of Gorgoroth, thus there is a lot of down time waiting for it to cure . . . I did an easy, but very important piece, to help bide the time. I present, Frodo Wearing the One Ring Base.

I might have a go at one of these, but I am thinking of a cunning variation on the theme.

Hey watch it! This is THE Cheesy Invisible Frodo. . . (i.e. the limited release store competition metal GW produced base).

So I've brought this guy back out to build up to my Smaug model. Very happy with his scales as they've come along but looking for some help on the horns. I definitely want them to be base black but I'd like it to have a definitive horn look. Anyone done anything with horns before and have any techniques you could share? Hep would be appreciated.

Those are gorgeous, but I'm looking for black horns. Like a dark longhorn (steer) style horn.

It is pretty darkened and that is the reason I like it. Goblins dwell in the dark, with many shades and glowing eyes. A competitive model for the board too..!

Thank you that is the exact feel and look I am going for...still working on adjusting the green of the goblins to pale it out a bit and match better with the shadowy nature of the Warg.

WIP of my Boromir with his banner. Everything is base coated with an initial shading glaze. Lots of hours this weekend to finish him off.

I like the addition of the Osgiliath ruin to your base, I feel that it would look better turned the other way and/or break up the straightness of the one side. Wish I could paint anywhere near your level.

Thank you for the feedback! The spin and turn around of the arch is more difficult than it would appear to be based on how it is mounted and painted. The left side is not at all "straight" but I think the busy background of my painting desk creates an illusion of a straight surface . . . at least that is what I am hoping. I guess we shall see when I take the final picture for the submission.
