Rosie is amazing! I hope you don't mind if I "steal" that idea?

The rest is very cool too, I love how creative your ideas are! The two hobbits with the rockets are a real nice addition!

Very nice sculpting. I think the issue with the arms is they seem too long ? Also the top of the forearm seems to bow outward,if you get my point. The upper arm looks great and I don't think you need to alter them.
I've just had another look and I suggest having the forearms crossed, I don't think the overlapping works.
I have to say I am massively impressed and you are so very nearly there.

I've got some other feedback that is similar on another forum. I think my problem is that the armature I used was positioned incorrectly and I'm not able to sculpt the arms crossing (with the hands tucked in) like I'm envisioning. I think I'm going to have to cut them off and try to reposition the armature.

Its all a learning process...

Anyway, thanks to everyone for looking and provideing the great feedback.

Ridiculously good conversions BrentS, I particularly like the wildmen left overs, the drunk hobbit and the fire works, very clever pieces. The mounted Gothmog conversion is lethal looking too, excellent stuff.

Well the combination of a super busy personal life, unexpected work travel, and the ever looming Adepticon deadlines... I've had to put the Hobbits on hold. There is no way I'm going to be able to finish them and my team army at the same time. I hope to put some time into them this summer and have them available for BBB as a ringer army.

I will hopefully getting a painted version of the new Halfling farmer up very soon though.

In the meantime, I'm prepping my dwarves for the team tournament!

Switching gears to my dwarves... I posted this same post in the Help with Minis forum too...

Well, I finished 9 Warriors with Hand Weapons (will get shields later), 12 Warriors with Spears (again, will get shields post painting), and a Captain with a hand weapon.

(Sorry for the crappy iPad photos)

My goal was to use the armored bodies of the Grimhamers and the weapon options from the Warriors kit. Many of the arms don't have armored shoulders or greaves so those need to be sculpted. The kits went together reasonably well, there are of course gaps that need to be filled. It only took me about 6 hours to get them this far. There is still some putty work that needs to be finished.

Wow, that's a good idea. What does the Grimhammer sprue look like? What weapon options do they have? Are they allowed to have spears in the game? They certainly have them in the film.

A few dwarves, camera close ups maybe letting me down...

I've decided that I don't like painting Finecast. I can't make those models look nice.

You can also get a flavor of some of the Erebor Dwarves/Grimhamer conversions. The dwarf without the helmet is proxying as a captain of Erebor.

The army is all finished except for the flocking.

Beautiful Dwarves there, tempting me to get some grim hammers but alas they are a tad too pricey really :)
