I just finished The Defenders of the Shire box set. Not an uber paint job, I just wanted to get them on the table. I really like these figures though, especially Gildor.

The other day we had LOTR SBG battle where we had to grab objectives on the battlefield. I forget the name of the scenario. While setting up, I realized I was woefully short of good themed Objective Markers. After digging through my bits boxes I came across these LOTR Trivial Pursuit game pieces. Just what I needed.

Ivy, Flowers and grass tufts added

Here's a quick statue that my friend whipped up in an hour.

That should help out our terrain for the next battle.

Gildor and the boys are great sculpts, look great. The trivial pursuit Game pieces look awesome as statues (first age had a lot of artisans and way too much free time during all those wars and then just leave them to weather and time to abuse). looks great.

Brilliant use of these figures. Galadriel looks the best to me.

I've got that game too. You've done a great job with that Galadriel sculpt

Good idea for the statues, does anyone know if the heroclix would work as well? Like to have my statues a little oversized and different poses than the standard models.

I have a Heroclix High Elf. I am gonna make into a statue as well. The problem with Heroclix is the bendy plastic and you have to be careful the kind of paint you use. Very easy to "melt" the figure and get it sticky or tacky.

Here are some Gripping Beast civilians I painted up. They scale well with LOTR so I got them to be Rohan villagers. I will also use them in SAGA games.

Those villagers look great! They would make for some awesome objective markers.

Scale wise do the villagers fit?
Well painted, they'll be very useful.
Also, I liked a lot the (ex-Galadriel) statue.

I like the villagers. I've considered buying some of Reaper's ones for scenarios myself

Villagers or townsfolk can be incorporated into the various Rohan and Gondor sieges , battles and campaigns, and they can also be used for Bree, Laketown and other places as well. I think you would need to get the right colours on them so they would fit into the Middle-earth palette - no glaringly bright colours - they can be rich and warm but subtle.
