Gandalf is looking nice; I'm loving the face. Also I like that Shagrat isn't holding a shirt worth more than the Shire. :)

The only thing I might suggest for Gandalf is possibly using slightly different colors (grayish blue, grayish brown, etc) for accessories like the scarf, hat and gloves. It stays within the Gandalf palette and can keep a model from being entirely gray (ideal Gandalf the Grey gray levels being between 85-90% LOL).

Just finished my first Blue Wizard. Thanks to Gothmog the Werewolf for the idea!

You have this looking nice James with a great colour scheme. You could do with applying a mid tone on the blue cloak to smooth the blend between light and dark.

Thanks OMW!

Here is my recently painted Bolg. If anyone has any tips on how to do the base to look like he's at Dol Guldor I'd appreciate it

Edit: Idk of if you can tell but he's blind in his right eye, the center of the pupil is white

I'd do a semi stoned base, a couple of carboard squares to make it look paved, and then stick some sand on it. Paint is all black, colour the paved stones in a normal gray, wash with a dark green to represent moss, and add some dark foilage. Paint the sand in the normal way.

Some progress on the first feral uruks I've been painting. They're beautiful sculpts. Please excuse the picture quality, I've misplaced my good camera so I had to use my phone

I really like you painted those Goblins, especially their little faces, so expressionful and well done. :yay:

not a fan of that Cave Troll though, though its mostly the fault of the sculpt.

Thank you sir. I hope so too I simply enjoy it too much to not give it a go. After all, when my breaks from painting on my comnission work is spent painting my own models...

The minis look great - and best of luck with making a career out of something you actually enjoy doing.
I had another one of 'those' moments this week, attending a teleconference where people were rambling on about something SO dull, that despite my best efforts to maintain some professional attentiveness, I found my self wondering what the Hell I was doing there. So, in my own time I am working on a Cunning Plan to get a new career doing something I like (more of that some other time).

I can't imagine there's much call for a sambuca tester these days.

Excellent ferals!

Your Bolg looks like a character from a post-apocalyptic junkyard world: by that I mean that the metallic parts look very realistic, not that he is lacking in quality.
