Loads to come, and here is something I've been working on- Thorin's co. according to book descriptions. Weird beards and all. Had to greenstuff a longer beard on Thorin, and have made Dwalin blue in the beard department. Haven't made his long because I like the body detail on the model, but I imagine it's tucked into his top, then his golden belt :P More to come!

This stuff is good, this stuff is very, very good.

Thorin and Dwalin are ace, but the Fell Beast just blows me away. Love it.

Binge some more!

Thanks! I have another Fell Beast I have converted and reposed. I will post a pic soon, then get to painting the thing! Just doing some cave trolls and Blackshields at the moment!

I love all the items on this page. In particular, I think the Fell Beast's wings are perfect annd would like to know how it was achieved. The rest is brilliant too. I'm not a fan of red clothing on Goblins but that is something I have against GW not you.

:yay: :yay:

I presume the Goblins count as Moria Goblins for the purposes of rules. Also, I know you 'cheated' on the bases as you seem to have used the stick-on patches of grass that GW sells, which tbh looks better than manual application anyway.

Also, some of your models look awfully familar, have I seen them before?

I think a couple were posted earlier on... The Fell Beast for one. When I paint the other one I'll do a step by step to show you the colours if you like? Yeah, I use stick-on patches for my evil minis, and static grass for the good ones. With the exception of the fellbeast bcause his base was so big. The patches have a sparser, rockier feel to them.

For WotR, archers cout as archers, I've converted me some blackshields, and the Goblin Town goblins count as Prowlers.

I like the painting - the conversions are pretty and are in keeping with the portrayal both onscreen and in the books so nice compromise.
And we can see you reflected in the window - you might want to watch out for that - some unfortunates have become famous on ebay not for what they were selling but for the fact that they were wearing little or no clothes when they took the photos and didn't notice that their reflection was showing this up.
And taking photos using a flash while near reflective surfaces can be a nightmare - take it at 45 degree angle to the reflective plane.
I agree with comments above - the Fell Beast is particularly great.

You've made the two types of goblins go really well together. Good job!

Not much of an update today; busy planning for work tomorrow. Managed to paint a cave troll, and finish Dwalin, and start on Sulrandir/Sharkey, however!

I like your painting on that dreadfully poor detaled Cave Troll sculpt. Nice bluebearded Dwalin too, is it actually darker in real life.

Yeah, much darker. And the highlight is fenrisian grey which seems only blue in that pic!

Not much of an update once more... will be painting like the wind this weekend though for a WotR match coming up! Nevertheless, here's a painted (still needing touching up around the joins/fleshy areas though), though unbased, Sulrandir. And also him with all the Istari I have so far (And a suntanned Gandalf awaiting his final flesh highlight. Just waiting on the new Finecast Saruman to complete the crew!

Great Kili, I did a similar conversion a few weeks ago! Your paintjob is very nice! :) still don't understand why Peter Jackson gave him brown hair though...
