I make roofs the same way but i put several strips of cardboard on eachother while cutting the tiles.
It's a very simple solution but it saves a lot of time.

I was thinking that if one of those houses is owned by a merchant, it should look like that a wealthy man is living there..there will be marble floor but maybe something more..i decide to add some wood decorations and try completely new technique, at least for me..

I drew a scetch and started from there...

Ok, im not 100% satisfied with the decoration, but its my first ever so dont be too harsh...it tought that it would be more diffucult, but with time and patience it managed ok...

The decoration looks great. I'm really interested to see what you do with this one, don't forget to add piles of money and maybe some merchandise.

Wow! I think I saw this in its early stages, and I have to say, it's looking stunning! Beautiful wood work on that building, and I just can't wait to see it finished!

Very good, I do love how this port is developing. Some beautiful touches of detail. Keep up the good work.

Looking further a head, and looking at your accompanying figures, I am guessing this is for Dol Amroth? Any port need sships, do you have a plan to build any?
If so what sort of theme will you be following, as I have not come across many depictions of the ships of the Men of Numenor, or Gondor...

Thanks for your feedback..i will add wood decorations also on the balcony and on the stairs wich will come in front of that door..

Its not going to be an Dol Amroth harbor, thou that would be a very interesting project..the harbour will be little bit murky and old harbour where you can find rich merchants but also pirates and other shady characters..i dont now where it would be on the middle earth map, but i have to decide that soon because im allready planning and drawing the table itself..

Im planning to make the table little bit unusual style..i will make it from 6-sided hexes (hex side will be approx. 17cm)..each hex will be constructed from mdf and in top of that two 3cm foamboards..when i have lets say, ten of these hexes, i can change the configuration of the table every time..why foamboard on the top off the mdf? Because this way i can carve stonebatterns, ditches, hills and holes to the foam and this way make it more realistic and interesting than plain mdf...i got the idea from GW´s Mighty empires - tiles...its a risky project but i think that it will be an interesting one..

Hmm, that does sound an interesting location you are trying to find. Sounds a bit like a somewhat unruly Bree on the coast, but where to site such a place?
From the mouth of the Anduin southwards you obviously have Harad and Umbar. Good for pirates but not sure how this desert-like port would suit your image??
West along the coast you have Gondor, which although in decline, at the time of WOTR, I would still consider a law abiding land in general...
Once you turn north along the coast you start heading toward Eriador and eventually the Elf Haven of Mithlond. Further than that north and things start getting cold and icy...

One place may suit, but you would perhaps need to pitch it earlier in time than WOTR; Lond Daer (Shadow Haven), a harbour in Eriador at the mouth of the River Gwathlo, though deserted and in ruins at the time of WOTR... [according to The Complete Guide to Middle-Earth]

Of course you could pick and create your own place, but if you want an assortment of merchants , pirates and the like, then this area in general may suit your needs, carrying trade and commerce between Mithlond & Gondor...

Hope this helps
regards
Scott
