I'm sure DMS would disagree with you there. I just do as I'm told :-D

lol, as long as he paid you.

There are also reasons he needed the whole thing to be non-GW produced (i.e. scratch sculpted instead of converted).

I see. Very good work anyway, but I like your Stone Giant better, for obvious reasons I think.

Well as promised here is an update on the four horsemen.

Been kinda rushing these through a bit and it shows. There is even a finger print on the bottom pic which is most unlike me. That will need filing off or covering over. Going away for a while soon and upon return it's all commissions - hence the hurry to get these off the workbench and into my painting backlog. I've deliberately left the clothing and barding short so that more of the horses can be seen.

These look great. I like the tattered cloth and skeletal frame of the horses. Works perfectly :yay:

The horses are looking good, strangely enough I really like the reins.

Beauticious and delicious!

lol but didn't you study horse anatomy to get the muscles right? If so, why did you then cover it all up with cloth?

Those are probably the best Riders of the Dead ever, the horses especially look really really really good. Good on you, master ukfreddybear :-D

Well I haven't covered them all up. It's a balance I had try and get right. When I did the muscles I didn't know which bits would be showing at the end, so I did more than I probably needed to. I have kept the barding quite mininal when compared to the GW dead riders, but I didn't want them completely without barding because I want them to fit together in the same force once painted up.

I wouldn’t have recognized that Warhammer skeleton thing as a usable starting point for a realistic sculpt; it looks more like a caricature to me.

That makes it the more staggering to watch the combined pose of the Natarn rider and the horse. Not a dead cat doing its little jumping trick anymore, but a true to life destrier carrying an animated – albeit sligtly superannuated - Ivanhoe in the saddle.

You have my admiration... And my wow! :)

That is some seriously cool cavalry. If I was an AOTD player I would definitely purchase those.

So cool! Love the tips and stuff, you make it look so easy but when I try stuff like that it never works like I imagine - you have true skills!

Hey thanks for the praise guys 8)
Lots more commissions coming up, both scratch sculpts and conversions, so watch this space. I will try and get these riders of the dead painted too with the scheme used earlier in the thread for the infantry.

Those are fantastic! :yay: I can't wait to see them when they're painted.

The Glorfindel conversion is amazing as well, I really want one.
