I like the flags idea. The breast plate doesn't some fancy bits. But overall its coming together nicely.

Thanks.

I started on some more khandish warriors. If I finish them this month, and if they count, I'll enter them into the painting competition. (if warbands win; that's a lot of if's!)

This was my first try at white horses. I added some blond to the mane and tail of one, going for this look:
http://www.hdwallpapersarena.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/White_Horse_-_best_computer_backgrounds.jpg

I also added some leather pieces to the back of the breastplate to help blend it into the clothes, and for the extra protection! :)

I've decided that what I've got so far for the breastplate will actually be leather, and then I'll add a bunch of thin strips of metal onto it. I will also take off the part where it joins over his shoulders and put riveted straps there rather.

Again, C and C welcome. :)

White horses are very hard. The noses look like your reference picture. Good job!

Another quick sculpting update. I added some rivets to his back to hold the leather plates on. I also sculpted the metal strips of armour onto his front.

He's improving, will you add more to the chest?

I'm not planning to. I'll do the same as this on his back, and then add the straps over his shoulders and the ties at his side.

I agree.
There's a nice, crispy cleaness to your sculpting. Everything seems so precise.
I like the interesting slited armout design too, very cool :yay:

Thanks PoW and Sid. It's good to know Kidterminal isn't the only one following this. :)

I finished the armour on the back, and added the shoulder straps. I also finished groblog. $20 from GW, or $1 of putty, .50 spare goblin, and some spare time and patience from me! :)

I'm not sure I like the goblin hat. Though I'm having trouble seeing it clearly in the picture. The cape will look great. I like the longer sword too.

He looks excellent so far :yay: 8)
I really like the crown!

However, I think the cloak could use a few more creases and folds as it looks a tad static at the moment. Also, I think his left hand lacks a bit of definition... perhaps you could draw out the thumb a bit?

Other than those minor points though he looks great 8)

@ Kidterminal, Thanks. I'm still undecided on the crown myself, but I think it will look better once it's painted.

@ sid, Thanks. I may add some more definition to the cloak yet, I'll have to think about it. The left hand does have more definition than you can see in the picture, the grey washes it out.

I finished those dwarves I was working on a while back. 20 of them plus two iron guard.

I added some folds to the cloak, I think it looks much better now. There's a little bit on the left side that I will add some to yet, I just didn't want to wreck what I had done so far.

What do you guys think? Better?

The folds look great! Don't forget to add some on the edge of the front.

Here's some progress on my warbands entry. The highlights seem to be washed out in these pics, especially the skin. The horses are done, except for the colourful cloth barding. I also finished off Groblog.

You might try some brown ink on those horses for more muscle definition.

Kidterminal, the pictures wash out the definition, it's better irl. Though I may come back to them and add some darker bits to up the contrast at some point. Thanks for the feedback.

I finished two of the riders, one of them being a chieften/king.

How can you tell which is the chieftain? I'm warming up to those horse sculpts. Once they are painted up they look pretty good.
