It is a picture of Bilbo's father, Bungo Baggins.

I don't plan on doing a full interior at all (I'm obsessive, but I'm not crazy), but some parts will be visible through the larger windows, hence the parlour fireplace.

I think you have had the same idea as me. Because of the size of that window, an 'interior' is definately required.

I was however...kepping this underwraps, but seeing your result so far, I think I will just sculpt a pair of curtains and have them closed

Alan made a statement where I am 'quick', ... not this time round. Work is killing me. no staff, no Managers ( I should have 3 beneath me, I am down to 1 (2 sacked for stealing).

My work area has never. EVER been in such dissarray :!:

Slow at the moment, but I have a week off at the end of November, so hopefully I will produce something that will be worthwhile, or just pretend I have died and never ever come to this site again, therefore making the comp void of any winner

I am also tied up with other stuff at the moment and so can't make much progress on it for a while, so there's no great rush.

Plus, while I am enjoying being pushed to greater standards by this competition, I was planning to build this model before we even talked about a comp, and so if you want to call it off, then that's fine with me.

And admit defeat ? NEVER :-X

I'll just find some other excuse why it will never be completed, which reminds me, dont know if I mentioned in our last MSN discussion that I have a very rare disease that may result in my arms being amputated

Seriously, NO WAY, I am actually loving doing some terrain again, but time and time of year in my profession is against me.
When we agreed to this, I knew this would be a very, very long project (for both of us).

Just hired a new Fresh Food Manager, he starts Thursday, have to babysit him, which means 1 day off this week = zombie mode.

I am doing 'tiny' bits each morning, so bare with me, something soon ... I hope lol 8)

Good thing you're both encouraging each other

However, reading on I'm glad to hear you won't be halting the project, no matter how small the updates are, they are a pleasure to scroll over. Keep them coming! 8)

I agree that Alan is going above and beyond in this project. I might turn out to be one of those legendary pieces that score 9.8 on CMoN.

I have faith in you too brian, to adjust and restart is divine =)

I have been working when able on different parts here and there. The New parlour piece has caused issues, I made it too small to to get the Lead Window effect I wanted, therefore I moved onto something new...
Heres what I have for the front entrance so far...

A LOT of catching up to to do Alan !!!
I have a week off work in 1.5 weeks time, I plan to do as much hobby stuff as I can, however I always take this week off every year to get Xmas shopping done and stuff. Once that week goes, work is hell on earth...so I'll see you all in mid January

Yes I did. I used Brown Milliput, but to be honest, I cant see me using that as the door. It would be fine for an Inferior Hobbit Hole, but not for Bag End.

Excellent words of wisdom...thankyou very much.

Only a balrog could have come up with a phrase like 'Inferior Hobbit Hole'. Not very politically correct, though I suppose being a fire-spirit allied to the outcast Ultimate Lord of All Evil, political correctness is not high on the agenda...

He does a great line in excuses though... 8)

My father works for UPS, so I know what that's like.
But let's not share stories. I want to see happy things.
Like your excellent hobbit houses!
