Thanks guys.
Dorth, I was thinking of something with a mottled background like this:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/328528?browseid=9145973Annnnyway, the painting continues, and the scenery making is still on hold.
I am still on Isengard.
So my Berserkers and Ferals were looking a bit bare based, so I've added some scattered rags (tissue paper and PVA), shattered weapons and shields, etc. Since this photo I've made more progress:
1. I finished the 12 berserkers. Over the weekend I added some white hands and spatters of blood. I don't like too much blood on minis, but the berserkers really are begging for it.
2. I need to finish the Ferals. 4 need skin work. All need work on the metal, and all need a few washes on the cloth. Interestingly, since I do really like the models, I don't particularly like painting them.
3. Warg Riders- I'll be painting six of these this week.
4. Sharkey and Worm (crimebusters of the sea!). It took me a while to get hold of Worm, but now I have, and am eager to get them out on the table!
5. 12 Uruk scouts with shields. These I painted this weekend, but all i have is a WIP shot:
6. I also converted a spare Ugluk to a standard bearer (standing on a future stone circle!).
7. Waiting on Mahur to arrive, to lead the scouts. I shall paint him and Ugluk/standard bearer together.
So more or less, this is my Throne of Skulls army.
I want to get every single model up to the best standard I can manage before the competition. Considering I was rushing through them to get them done for the last two tournaments they'll never be contenders for best army, but once they're done I can take a break with scenery for a bit, and then on to Galadhrim elves. Or maybe my Blue Mountains Dwarf project... or maybe... gah! So many projects!
