Maybe try and get hold of one of the Uruk hai ladders and snip the pointy bits off?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

@Nevinsrip
yes I agree with you on the ladder. It looked ok until I put the models next to it. I'm currently working on a reduced scale version but I think to balance the scale v not being too delicate to game with issue, it will still be out of scale with the miniatures to a degree. I also have thought all along that it's higher than necessary but I like it for some reason. Thanks for your input.

Also my painting has improved hugely since I joined this site and I hope to continue that progression. And all I did in that time was to look at at the amazing work by others on here, listen to their tips and be patient when doing your own. I'm not a naturally artistic person so it's all about learning the different techniques and practise. Seriously if I can get a best army nomination from Shadow and Flame, anyone can!!

@ gandlaf the grey
Thanks! Hoping to get it painted up tonight while watching the soccer. I was very pleased with how the freehand worked out alright. Better than I had hoped when I started anyway!

@ dezartfox
Thanks. The ladder is a good idea but I'll see how it looks when I make a reduced scale version first.

Regarding the ladder. Why not take those Uruk "storm the castle" type siege ladders and cut the tops off? Use a Dremel or drill and rough them up untill they look like regular ladders.
If they are not tall enough, you can join two pieces together where the iron
grappling hooks were. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Ladders are one of the hardest things to scale correctly in miniature work. A good model railroad shop is a wonderful place to find things in the correct (or close enough) scale.

Excellent tower by the way. I always toyed with the idea of using the 4 Knights pieces from a cheap wooden chess set to place on top of the towers four posts. The kind of travel chess set that you can buy at the 99 cent stores or the local Walmart. I think that they would look great.

I think the Tower looks great. Nice addition to all the rohan houses you have going.
