Hey Adrian! Not seen you around for a while. Hows things? Still busy making Middle Earth?
Hi Dave! Thanks for asking. You are right: I should pay more attention to what’s going on at the One-Ring. But you know, I’m working for the SBA (the Shire’s Building Association) these days. It’s a strangling contract, making long days without any payment whatsoever (Payment? It costs!
), but housing shortage in Hobbiton is almost over and done with.
Time for an update, then. Yes, it’s Middle-earth from dawn ‘til dusk. I have finished thirty nine hobbit holes; Hobbiton no. 34 is in the process of being photographed and will hopefully join the others later this week at the lotrscenerybuilder site.
Here are two of my favourites:
I had my doubts about Hobbiton No. 2a at first, as it appeared to be just a ‘simple’ roof & door hole. Now I think it is one of the best designed smials in Bilbo’s village.
Hobbiton No. 9 lies partly hidden behind some trees. It gave me a bit of a surprise when I finished the model – like seeing its beauty for the first time. But here it is, without any trees to obstruct the view.
I still have about three months time to finish my Hobbiton Project. No. 2, no. 18 and no. 25 of the 1999 collection and no. 17, no. 28 and no. 39 of the Guillermo Del Toro holes have to be build yet. I also want to add the two water holes and the little garden shed.
I’m still not sure about Bag End, though...
Oh, BTW... has anybody by chance downloaded Weta’s ‘Eye of Sauron’ app for iPad from iTunes?
You might want to take a second look at the picture of Barad-dûr in the screenshot.
Because it isn’t the Weta tower that meets the Eye...
It’s mine.
