Thanks guys.

Yeah, just a black undercoat. They will be painted similarly to my infantry.

They're looking great so far Samoht, really like what you've done with the armour

For that horse, I painted it using elf flesh with a bit of bestial brown. Then washed the whole thing in watered down bestial brown. Then highlighted once again with the mix of elf flesh and bestial brown until only elf flesh was used.

Thank you :)

Thanks

Ok gang, I'm back with another update.

Painting these Raiders can be tedious so I have started a few other small projects.

I am sculpting King Theoden and Theodred from scratch. I have heaps of Wargames factory heads so i will be using those and changing them a little. They have been blue tacked onto the partially sculpted figures.

King Theoden.
At the moment he looks like he is at the disco but At the end hopefully he will look more like he is rallying his troops. I will add more hair, a beard trim and a bigger nose to the head.

Image

Theodred.
I am basing his pose off Erkenbrand's pose because it is so full of action. Longer hair will be added to the head. He will get a flowing cape too.

And here is another update on the Raiders.
I have finished their white undergarments. (The lighting is appalling)

Enjoy!

Some excellent Haradrim you've got there!
Looking forward to see what you'll do with the two sculpts. 8)

Thanks guys.

Raiders and Rohan heroes not yet finished.
Here's something else though.

To me, it seems almost criminal to waste all those lovely extra pieces that come in the plastic troll kit.
With my troll drummer assembled, I have decided to sculpt more trolls to use up the rest of the kit.

Here is an Isengard troll in early stages of sculpting. He will be given the right breastplate, the Isengard troll head, the shield and the sword. (So pretty much what he is supposed to have anyway.

I am going to have to make his left pectoral a bit saggier looking because it makes the armour plate look too high on the right side.

Thanks guys.

Another update on the troll.
Once again, I go a bit over board when sculpting his muscles, so he looks like he's been taking steroids. Oh well.

And with all the extra bits crudely blue tacked on.

He should be finished very soon. I'll be able to paint him with the troll drummer.

Great work as always! 8) What kind of clay do you use for your sculpting? It's obviously not green stuff.
