Thanks Mally! At least one person here likes my work!

I have already done number two, this time about sculpting legs and feet! It is much shorter than the previous one so I hope it is more interesting. Please feel free to like / subscribe and whatever else you can do with it... :-D

The video can be seen here and on youtube:

Best wishes,
Bennet

Another good job.
One pointer, and this may be the angle of the camera, but the leg seems a touch thick to me. Perhaps when you get the other one done it may look better.

Wow, this has been faaar too long again!
Well, anyway, I have done a bit of sculpting over the past few days again, I have the comission to convert both Thranduil models. I have nearly finished the elk head now, there's only the horns and the ears left.

I hope you like it! If you're interested I have done another sculpting tutorial on the fur, you can view it here.

Best wishes,
Bennet

Very nice Bennet. Interesting that you opted for an entirely new head. I've chosen to adjust the horse head that is already there for mine. Can't fault your video. It explains the technique very clearly. I only use this for feathers usually on eagle heads but it appears to work here for that matted fur appearance. Well done. 8)

Very, very nice sculpting. The fur on the elks's neck is fantastic - really nice detail.

Fantastic sculpting of the fur. It is incredibly realistic.

Your sculpting never ceases to amaze me, and that certainly is one amazing stag head. Very much looking forward to the finished piece (or even the next WIP)!

Thank you very much everybody, I feel humbled!

As I have run out of putty for a while I started to sculpt a Warhog digitally today:

Image

I am especially unsure about the size and anatomy. As I want to place a rider on it I lengthened the back legs and decreased the "bumb" on the back. The head is pretty similar to a normal european boar except the second pair of tusks. What do you guys think? Should I change something before detailing?

Thank you very much!
Cheers,
Bennet

That elk is stupendous! But I'm especially excited for that boar

Looks good to me, I like the longer back legs. Do you plan to sculpt this ?

Thank you very much again everybody! :flower:

I wish it was... No, it is ZBrush, a professional 3D sculpting programm that even WETA digital use. I could probably bought two Smaugs for the price of it...
There is a smaller free version of it however, it is called Sculptris. I don't know whether you can print the models from it off though.
abcdefg wrote:

Yes, that is the whole point why I bought the program. I just hope it isn't too expensive, I haven't done any research for the prices of 3D printing... :x

As mentioned before, this is hopefully goning to be printed and cast. Fortunately I can do quite a few in little time because I just have to pose the basic model and do the details, not start from scratch all the time.

I have finished posing the model and would call it done before all the detailing starts. What do you guys think?

Thank you very much!
